One other question... there is a substantial difference in price on Titanium retainers. Is there really a $100 difference?

PRC titanium retainer for 918 beehive valvespring
Precision Race Component's new titanium retainer to be used on comp 918 or similar beehive valvespring. Reduce valvetrain mass by using this light titanium retainer on your beehive spring. Made to work with stock valve locks. $160

Comp Cams Titanium Retainers
Comp Cams Titanium Retainers, for use with 26915 and 26918 valve springs $260

I ordered the PRC retainer. Am I going to regret this? If so, I'll return them and get the Comp retainers.

I think you'll be fine.
PRC has a very good rep for quality products. If those retainers are designed specifically for the 918's, I think you made a smart purchase.

A lot of Comp stuff is way overpriced. (921's for example). It's surprising they still sell the 918's so cheap.

Thanks Y2Kvert4me. That's pretty much what I thought and what the guys at Texas Speed & Performance said.

Man that's cheap. We manufacture titanium retainers, and the good material is now over $50.00 per pound.

My best advice to you is to get a small pen magnet to pull the keepers off and have a few spare keepers in case you drop to launch one. Good luck, let us know how things turn out.
