Larry

i have spoken with a forum member who's Vette-HID kit had either the wrong or missing ballast connections that were due to the "upgrade".

his kit does not work as shipped from said company.

The kit from TByrne and the wiring harness that comes with it can't possibly keep the low and high beams on at the same time. I have the install instructions from vette-hid and they show a different wiring harness. They are ACA lights and who ever assembled the wiring harness did not do a very good job.

I agree, yeah who ever put them together needs a slap on the back of their head. Before I reversed the diode, the low beam HID's would stay on with the high beams. But then the lights wouldn't go down or shut off.

So after having reversed the diode, the lights work normally but no low beams with the high beams. If I could get a schematic on that relay I'm pretty confident I could fix it. I guess it not really that big of a deal, but when you pay $900 you expect it to work as advertised.

Hey guys,

I'm relaying some info that I received from Brian to help you guys with your issues:

Here is a link to the picture of the: correct adapter layout

If you reversed the diode and the low beams do not stay on when high beam is activated the diode is not in correct. I have a feeling the relay connector was terminated incorrectly.

If the lights are off and the hids stay on the relay is wired wrong. IF the relay was wired incorrectly the headlights might not go down as they should.

Relay pinout info here:

What version ballasts were included with the kits?

Could someone take a pic of the harness that is supplied and causing problems; I need close ups of BOTH ends ballast plug and relay plug and the wire orientation.

Interesting.......

other people have been stating that the wiring harness the received in their kits from ACA are no different than the ones brian supplied in his kits, but that harness looks nothing like brians.

This is per Brian:

They are using the Philips gen 4 ballast.

Looks as if they decided to try and make some changes.

The white wire you see should go to the High beam like the adapter I pictured above.

The green is the relay trigger.

They put the ballast connector on the wrong harness.

The black and red wires wires from the relays plug directly into the ballast; nothing else should be connected to those wires.

The adapter harness should be separate and exactly like I pictured above.
