My kids 1st car (16th Birthday) was a V6 Mustang. We did dual exhaust a cold air intake some wheels, side scoops etc. Good Father and Son stuff. Last thing a Kid needs is some dude (read that adult) in a Hi Performance Sports car encouraging him. Don't mean to preach but it's better to teach by example.

Hey Micah!

I'm your neighbor! I live in Summerville. Watch going through North Charleston. They use 06 Mustang GT as unmarked cars.

The way you controlled yourself, you have nothing to worry about.

Sweet. I'm 55 and the signal light is still a Christmas tree to me so controlling myself is a also a challenge.

Thanks Larry! Over here in Hananah they have two GT mustangs, but they can't be missed, the have all the bells and whistles on the side of them, but last week at a light on Dorchester, I had an unmark GT next to me and I am certain he wanted me to do something stupid, but I just took off from the light in normal fashion and nothing came from it. They are tricky in Charleston, which irritates me, because there are far better things to worry about than a speeder, the crime here seems to be worse than whan I was here in the last 4 years.

I seen the 2 GT in Hananah on the way to work. Murder rate is up, what? 60% since last year? That is just murders. Can you imagine the other crimes? I'm glad I'm on base.

On another note: My wife worked at Summerville Auto Auction. They had a silver Viper come in from a Repo. Our State Trooper friend, Paul Brothers brought in some SC Trooper Decals and taped it on the Viper. We took pictures as he posed near the car. Looked like a REAL trooper car. It would be crazy if you see that on the Highway. I will have to go look for them pictures and post em.

BTW -- Cold this morning, left the top on and the heat up.

Yeah, it was cold! I am curious about that viper, we had a chief driving one of those around here for awhile and now I never see it anymore...wonder if it is the same. Is it the newer body style or the older cooler styling viper?

Older, but it's been awhile, probably 3 years ago. Hard top GT-R I believe. I will have to find the pix tonight.

I'm sure Micah seen them all around here...

I've seen unmarked Charger, Camaroes, BMW 3 series and a Chevy Tahoe. The Crown Vics and Caprices, you can spot a mile away. These unmarked ones? Yeah, good luck.

The flashing lights are the only give away.... but if you see those, it might be just too late.

I barely heard it over my exhaust and just shook my head and thought, I should take this as a compliment that he wanted to show me up like that. It was not fast. I repeat it was not fast!

I just continued to cruise (cruise was on and set at 56 mph in a 55 mph zone) and watched with boredom as he slowly moved along.

Just thought I would share a little humor.

Kudos to you for holding back Micah. You could have shattered his glass with just your exhaust. Way to go.

I agree that it is hard to hold back but that is why "older is wiser." It takes everything I have not to respond to the rev of an engine from the other lane. I think most of those kids(relative term) are doing exactly what we did in our youth. Hell, I had a header, exhaust and a Holley 360 carb on a 1975 PINTO!!!! no match for most cars but it was fun in high school way back in 1975.

Cruising down the freeway at 60 a Mercedes AMD slides up alongside and starts lurching. I get the message but Im thinking, "just cruising on a beautiful night so go away'. Finally he punched it and it was impressive.

So, the question is, am I older and wiser , older and slower, or just older??

Dont think I want to know the answer. Will just keep on enjoying the ride as long as I can.

These people cant really think they have a chance, do they?

Maybe they just want to see these cars go, and dont really think they can beat a vette, just want to see a sweet ride take off..
