Default Can YOU drive 35mph?

I was on my way to work and one state cop and one local cop were all lit up on the side of the road, with the state car blocking one lane on a two lane road. Well here I come at my usual speed and come across this on the blind side of a curve. People were just slowly driving around them. I cruise by real slow, wondering about no front plate, Borla's and blackouts on my lights, and just my luck, the state cop pulls in right behind me. Time to test out that Mennan deoderant. It's 35mph zone, I usually cruise with traffic on this curvy, hilly road in the mid 50's, could easily do it at 75. He follows me for at least 4 miles, which felt like 100.

Do you know how hard it is to do 35?? - it's torture. When he pulled off, after breathing a sigh of releif, I just had to let her stretch her legs...........

Do you know how slow 35mph is???

You sure did good........ 35 mph is too slow... I had a similar experience where a young local fuzz thought he was being cute by following me almost all the way home.. had to drive it in 3rd gear and hope he had his window up to not hear the exhaust. I also had to take it out to blow the dust out of the throttle body and recover. I was coming home today and a ricer was pulled over by an unmarked Cavalier (with lights flashing in the grill)... they are sure trying to take the fun out of driving!

I had a motorcycle cop follow me the other day. I don't have a problem with these guys doing their job, but every once in a while you come across one who likes to see if they can intimidate you into a mistake. This guy was following me so close that I couldn't see anything but the top of his windscreen and his upper torso. When we pulled up to a stop light he got as close as he could without touching the back end of the car. I wasn't doing anything illegal when he started following me, but what made me nervous is that I have PRT's on my ride and they aren't quiet on their best day!

I just knew I was going to get nailed for the infamous loud factor...I short shifted and did everything I could think of to keep the car as quiet as possible. Eventually he just whipped around me and took off, but man was I nervous for those few minutes. I just really don't like those kind of tactics. I mean if they catch me speeding or whatever then I deserve what I get, but the intimidation thing doesn't go over well with me.

Yes I do ! ! !

One "way" to get to my "big town" bypasses the state hwy. It's pavement.
Mostly 35 mph in the "middle of nowhere", with a few houses. No visual obstructions.

Then, with a few scattered houses on ONLY one side of the road, it's 30 MPH ! ! !

And, the final "30 mph" sweeping curve to a stop sign "connector", I've taken at 110 with no problem. Both ways.
It is just flat country-side grassland, no visual obstructions, no houses or side roads at ALL.

Oops, sorry, that was a BIG exaggeration. I have NEVER done that.

But, the entire road is "heaven" for the local officers. Not too hard to meet your "quota" because of a couple of "rolling ridges".

The real test of "how slow" it is would be to jump out of the car moving at 35 MPH! PS. get someone else to drive when you do it!

One day I accelerated rather BRISKLY through a sweeping right hand highway on ramp. (The Highway speed limit was 65) As I merged on to the highway at 85,,,,,,,I fell in right next to an un-marked Crown Vic with a rather young looking trooper in uniform inside!!!!
As our eyes met, I was thinking (H O O O L Y C H I T!!) and I can only imagine he was thinking "So,,,now tuff guy, what are you going to do??"

I dropped back down to 65. Wouldn't you know it,,,,so did he. He shadowed me for quite a while and after he figured I had a big enough load in my britches, he ramped right back up to 80 and headed off down the road. I stayed closer to 70 for the rest of the trip.

I hate the tailgating cops. whats the deal with that. We should start driving around with cameras in our cars to show all the wreckless driving they do. ie... turning on lights to blow a red light and turn them off once they get through the intersection, not using turn signals to change lanes, the list is endless. Isnt there a law that a LEO cant follow you for more than an x amount of distance without pulling you over?

and no i can not drive only 35. besides i get better gas mileage going 40mph. try telling that to the LEO. "um yes officer, i get better gas mileage at higher speeds" see how well that one works

Ha you think 35 is bad... try driving 15 mph for roughly 1/2 mile.. maybe a little more with a cop right on your a$$....... I use to live on an Air Force base and where my house was the speed limit was 15 until you exited the housing area... where it turned to a whopping 30 all the way to work.... now I live off base and get to do 80+ on the new freeway.. until I get back to base and have to do 30 again
