I would answer your question, but it's just too silly?
You seem to know the terms correctly so you have some knowledge. It's like someone asking "should I use a spoon to eat soup", or "I know ABCDEFG... what's next".
Depends on what your going to use the car for. If a DD, then you're spending a lot of money for show, but no place to go. If racing then the 4:10 gears w/harden output shaft are going to move you into a far more competitve profile. All about increased performance and speed with the higher gear ratios and mods like the hardened shafts.
4.10's will make you have much higher rpms for any given speed. Which means your top end will be limited - but for lower speeds you will get higher in the power curve sooner. I believe most serious drag racers would benefit from such a ratio. Probably not a good choice for a daily driver.
There - I think that's a more useful response than the spoon/fork approach.
I think the 4:10's are fine in a 6 spd. Daily driver or not. If you're looking into big RWHP (over 450) they might be a bit much, but I like being able to use 6th gear at "normal" highway speeds. Sure first gear is a bit low, but all in all, a good mod.

Do you have an experience to prove this?
..not a flame. A serious question. Im thinking about getting 4.10's in a stock 6speed vette to get more "oomph" in the seat ( and Ill NEVER have a need to drive faster that 160mph).
while reading and talking to fellow gear heads when I say "4.10" I get a responce saying
"you loose your first gear"
"the car will become un stable"
"not for a daily driver"
"You will have to buy new tires every 6 months"
"You will create a fold in the space/time fabric and destroy the universe"
but the math in the final drive ratio does not sound that bad?
any first hand experience out there?

"you loose your first gear" - not true at all, as i stated above. that is a myth.
"the car will become un stable" - not true either, very stable! what do gears have to do with stability anyway?
"not for a daily driver" - not true, i drove my car to work 47 miles each way for 2 years.
"You will have to buy new tires every 6 months" - i had to do that anyway, even with the stock 3.42's. nothing new, can't blame the gears!
"You will create a fold in the space/time fabric and destroy the universe" - possible.
