That's FUNNY!! I used to tell my wife that she/we couldn't drive the 2002 Vette I had for a short time in the rain....because the under the car pan, etc. would melt if road water hit it.

i love when people say that but think about all the time the cars spend on a truck or outside at the factory or dealer. The only thing is you dont really want to drive through mud or grit that will stick to the bottom but then if you do just get under it and clean it off and it will be better than new.
Do not dry it off , Do not let it dry itself.....
First wash it.
Road grime and particiulate that forms the nuclei of rain drops can cause swirls if you try to wipe dru.
Letting it self dry can resul tin water spots.
Give it a washing with a quality car wash like Meguiars NXT, rinse well and dry with a waffleweave microfibre towel or blow dry with an electric ( not gas) leaf blower.
SOme gas models vent the exhaust with the blown air to increase velocity.... you do not want to be putting exhaust mist on your new paint....
Never been in rain....does this include the months it sat in the dealership lot!!!
I was in Dearborn this summer and on a very, very rainy sunday morning, I drove from my hotel to Les Chapman Chevrolet and spent a little time looking at their fleet of really wet vettes whose future owners will also say, "never seen rain or snow."
