I understand your pain! Consider it christened and now part of your family.
I bought mine from a dealership in MN. It had only been on the road for 4 summer months prior to being traded back to dealership and spending winter in their showroom.
I had it shipped to me by enclosed truck during March so as to keep it away from all the elements while it traveled across country but alas, the day and hour it was delivered we experienced one of the hardest rainfalls to hit the city in years!
Once off the truck, I had to drive it about a 1/2 mile to my garage. I immediately toweled it off. The dealership had already put a nice coat of wax on it to the water really beaded well.
That was in '05. It hasn't seen a drop of rain and been a true garage queen since that fateful day, partly because I have too many other vehicles. I think I've only washed it twice till now. I use a California Duster, Swiffer dusters and a lot of Mother's SHOWTIME to keep it touched up and shiny. Even the wheelwells and inside the wheel rims look the the car has never been on the road!
Delivery pics in the rain can be seen if you click on "My Corvette Photos" link under my avatar.
Well now you know where the windshield wiper switch is and that they work. Not all Vette owners can say that
Yeah...after turning the lights off 3 or 4 times....It's kinda neat how you can nove the thing up and it has different speeds....I gotta go play with it...Obviously I never drove the 2002 coupe in the rain.
Man, I wish I had a pic of my vette after I got caught in a snow/mainly ice storm going down Route 81 from Northern VA to Blacksburg VA. From where I was when the storm hit it's usually 3 hours - took me 9! The vette was covered in a little over a .5 inch of ice by the time I got to my buddy's house! Man, that's the most scared I have ever been in a car.
I remember the second day I looked at mine and then test drove it...it rained! I had a hopped up 1999 Z28 and it had all of the works to smoke the vette I have now, so when the salesman said, "Bummer it is raining today, you can't really get on it!" I looked at him and smiled, "My Z28 would eat this baby up!" Of course, now, almost three years later, my VETTE wishes it had the opportunity to match up against my Z28, because it would be dusting it pretty good!
Enjoy the new member of the family, I love those FRCs!

Come on think about it before you bought your car don't you think it sat on the lot at the dealership and it got rained on or even snowed on.Just wash and dry the car and if you want you can give it a good wax job.
My car never saw rain until I bought it! The previos owner even suggested for me to wait 'til a DRY DAY to bring it home DIDN'T HAPPEN!! I was too eager to bring it home.
Do as I did, wash it the next day...it'll be fine.
