I recently purchased a low mileage 04 Z06 and drove it 1500 miles home. I cringed every time I heard the soft tires picking up sand and rocks off the road and throwing on the lower body. Sure enough when I got home minor road sandblasting was evident. Does anyone know of a decent mudflap that will fit the C5 Z06? Also am looking for an insulation kit if it exists, gets a little noisy on the worn concrete roads. Would appreciate any ideas.
Do a search on insulation and you will see a ton of posts. I got the kit form exotic for my vert, and while I am happy with the results, I was less than thrilled with the "kit" part. One piece was missing, and I spent an awful lot of time filling in the small parts the so called kit did not cover. And I mean a lot of time.

These are the mudflaps that MidAmerica Motorworks sells. I chose black because they blend in with the tires better. I like them a lot and would put them on again. They are made for the C5 but I'm not sure if there is any difference between a reg C5 and a ZO6 in that area.
Hope this helps.
these look best, but are very labor intensive to fit to a C5.
Have you thought about smoothing them out and painting them body color? I realize you would still have the problem of sand blasting the paint off, but at least they would be easily removable to be painted again
With 80,000 miles on the car there was just no salvation for the "chalky" look that had deveoped in the wheel well area. the "flaps" came pre-painted and went on easily... I think they look fine.... probably would have outfitted the car with a clear protectant if it were newer... but it's not.... still beats the hell out of the chalky sandblasted look !
Maybe it's me but why do you want to put a set of mudflaps IN FRONT of the rear wheels? Reread the advertisement, I just don't see where it helps. The stones, sand and whatever coming off the rear of the front tires will chip away at the lower rocker panel all the way back to the leading edge of the rear wheel opening. I purchased a Vette from Idaho and man were the rocker panels ever sandblasted on that car.
Just my opinion but the rear of the front tires throwing pattern is more of a concern than the leading edge of the rear. I just use a front set on mine.......the back bottom edge seems short to only receive minimal damage from debris.

I'm running a set I got from Ecklers - bolts on using stock screws and for the rear, they are held securely in place by screws and a large band clamp that goes around the mufflers. Works very well in keeping debris from going up against the car.

nah, they don't come painted on the c6 z06 either so i'll keep mine looking "raw" too.
Yes they could be shaved down to work on front. I just did the rear on mine. I've thought about offering them but at about $68 for the set then to mod them I haven't come up with what to charge.
I've got a way to make cutting them down a lot less time consuming.
