BCM Module Question?
thanx,
rikk
There are at least three things I can think of that re-quire the re-programming ....
1) Unless you get really lucky, the resistor pellet in the 98 is probably different from the one in your igniition key ... so the BCM won't let the car run without these matching.
2) Even if they match, the BCM sends a "password" to the PCM to say that everything is OK to drive the car ... the password must be reprogrammed both in the BCM and the PCM.
3) Again unless you're VERY lucky, the 98 vehicle probably has different options than yours, such as Twilight Sentinal ... the BCM has to be programmed for the options installed on your car.
You need someone with a Tech2 scanner and the knowledge of how to go about this to make it work.
