There are basically two Corvette owners - garage cars, which can also be driven 2-4 times a week depending on weather, and daily drivers. If you have a garage car, why would you drive it in the rain, unless you got caught in it? If its your daily driver, what other choice do you have?
I don't like driving any of my cars in the rain. Rain makes a big mess from road grime and so on.
Rain sucks... not because I think its going to harm my vette... but as said before... rain makes things ugly... this car is too pretty to be made ugly by damn rain drops and dirt in the air
I don't drive my car in the rain, not because I'm afraid of how it will handle, but because I'm leary of how the other drivers around me will act. Okies have a hard time keeping control of their vehicles on DRY roads. Get a little rain in the mix, and around here, it gets downright dangerous!
I’m lucky enough to have 2 cars. I can’t use my Vette for work so when I do drive it, it’s for pleasure. When it’s raining, I would rather take out the car that I can run through the car wash.
If I get caught in the rain, oh well but I’m not going to start out in it if I don’t have to.
Mine is a weekend car...I have spent too much time cleaning the underside etc...to have it screwed up by rain and road funk...now that I have CCW wheels...I definatly will avoid it.
I don't drive mine in the rain because I don't have to, and then I just have to dust it off when it gets nice outside. Besides...I have a Mustang for rainy days.
I usually won't take mine out if it is raining when I want to leave - but I don't sweat it if it is raining.
It is dicey for traction though - you want to be much more careful and watch for puddles etc - with those wide tires they really skate when traction is poor.
I have been caught in the rain each time I have driven to Bowling Green , just par for the course. Not a big deal to me.
In my sig picture you'll see a Z in the rain. (Thanks for the pic Ryan!)
It is either brite & sunny or monsoon here. With ABS, traction control, active handling & lots of tread on the rubber, we enjoy ALL the weather to its fullest. If you keep it parked in the garage, your life is parked in there as well IMHO.
I conveniently removed my windshield wipers a couple of years ago, so I can't drive in the rain.
I thought of doing that too but decided against it after one to many times of something getting on the windshield during good weather and not wanted to stop to wipe it off; a lot easier to use the washer/wiper.
