hi, im new to this thing, i've heard and seen all about this forum and how it works from my cousin, and nw i can really be n it, since i just finished buying my first c5 corvette yesturday
let me know if this was a great deal
for a 1998 c5 in red great paint, 53,000 miles tires still good, interior still in good condition for 12,900 plus taxes and dealer fees, the only thing that its a rebuilt title, the carfax said that the owner hit a concrete barrier and then got summerged in water, didnt say hw much water, but im having some electrical problems, i've checked some fusses and some are starting or already a little corroded but other than that it drives great and looks great [IMG][/IMG]
ummm, the "concrete barrier" and "submerged in water" things make me quite leary. while $12.9k may appear to be a steal, due to the aforementioned concrete & water things, you may have a surprise or two (or three or four or more) lurking in the future. walk on this one. bub
ooops------i missed that small technicality that it's a done deal. best of luck.

Good luck (you might need it) and welcome to the Forum. $12.9K is pretty cheap - but the "rebuilt" title and the history of the car, not to mention the issues that are starting to surface would have indicated to me to keep looking.

I would have never bought a car that had been under water!
Dude, my younger brothers friend just bought a 2003 Nissan Sentra
SE-R with 51,000 on the clock for $12,100.(Dealer) It's a nice car for a Nissan I guess, but not my cup of tea If you know what I mean. This Is seriously the first time I have ever heard of a C5 going for under $15,000! If thats not a typo, that Is the best deal I've ever heard of. This guy down the road from me was asking $16,000neg for his 97' C5 with 148K miles on It!! Thats the deal of a life time right there!! Go ahead and pat your self on the back lol **Welcome to the #1 Forum! Your going to love It here & congrats on the sweet Vette!!!!!!!! ~CHRiS
*If lots of problems do arise, It's not because It's a Corvette, water would mess up any car!! I hope you got an extended warrentee of some kind. Still a great price though.

Drive it for all its worth. If it breaks, fix it and drive it some more. One thing about having a salvage title you can't drive it enough to get hurt on the money you spent on it.
Good Luck and Enjoy....
