Default Side Mirror Memory Problem?

I have a good friend who has a beautiful 2004 convertible. The car up to now, has had no problems at all. Apparently the side mirror on the passenger's side will not hold it's memory. He has brought the car back to the dealer 6 times with no luck at all. On one occasion they (the dealer) even replaced the entire mirror. On another appointment they replaced some kind of associated valve assembly. They have now told him that they need to consult with GM for assistance in determining the appropriate corrective action. It has been almost 3 weeks and he has not heard a thing from them. ----- Has anyone ever had this problem and does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you.

I have the same problem with my Olds Bravada with the passenger side mirror. It has a mind of it's own. When I take it in to the dealer they re flash the PCM and it works for a while and them it don't hold. Must be a general GM problem.

I had the same problem with my 02 Z06, passenger side mirror would go vertically down to it's fullest position when unlocked with my key fob, I replaced passenger door control module and it took care of the problem.
