My son and I had a great time at Spring Montain in April 2006. The stable of Vettes includes the 2006 Z06 which we both loved. Watching my son, who was a junior in high school at the time with 2 hours of manual experience, learn from the experience with a huge smile on his face was awesome. The instructors were able to not only teach us concepts, but also implement the training into results. We are planning another trip to Spring Mountain this spring. This is the best modification available for the Vette in our opinion and will help anyone enjoying the experience in driving everyday in any vehicle. Hope this helps and have a great day!

PDA is a local school for the northeast. Cost is under $300 a day at Watkins Glen, Limerock, and Pocono. Obviusly you are driving your own car at that price. The instructors are there until you get the basics (at least the first day at a track) Then you move up in class and drive and play and learn on your own. The instructors have usualy owned the type of car you bring so they know how it works. This is no problem for the Z06 as they have all owned the king of the track before so no shortage of well experienced instructors.

You have all been great to reply and provide feedback. IMO, running my own z at a track without any exprerience would be detrimental to the car. I would rather play at the expense of someone else's vette. That is where the driving schools come in. It sounds like many of you have had a wonderful experience and it helps with your daily driving too. That is awesome. A good investment IMO. Thanks for the inputs!!

Went to spring mountain with a bunch of other corvette forum people, had a blast. Learned a lot, then built upon that foundation with the PDA at Watkins Glen and Pocono. Spun the car at Watkins Glen and the spring mountain training definately helped in keeping under control doing 2-360's.

Funny that I should see this question today. I posted the following on a Z06 site that I hang out at this morning....

Another great Spring Mountain Driving School review

I got back from the 3 day level 1 yesterday and wanted to remind everyone that this is one heck of a good time. I went there to prep myself for open tracking my car and came away with even more than I had hoped. I think I was very lucky that I could go during this holiday week. There were only 6 people in my class. The track is challenging, the staff is awesome, and the facilities are top notch. Heck, even the lunch that was provided every day was good

The temperature was around 70 and provided perfect weather all week. Even though I went to specifically drive a C5 Z06 like mine, I did spend a couple sessions in a C6 Z06. Wow, what a difference. I'd get out of the C5 fairly damp with sweat after a session. In the C6 Z06, I'd run considerably faster with no drama, and very little effort. (and no sweat, literally)

The best part is I was tired enough after each day to avoid blowing any money in the casinos

If you are considering a school, definitively consider this one while the weather is good.
