Default Plastic trim??

Ok friends, where do I find this piece? What is it called? I have tried searches for door or roof gutters, door or roof trim, plastic trim. Also, how hard is it to change? Just snap on? Thanks!!

My dealer in Columbus GA fixed it for free for me. I had it on both sides. It might have had a TSB or something on it. Its been a while and I cant remember now. Give your dealer a try and see what they can do for ya.

No one knows what this is called? Prefer to order and install myself if I can, but I can't even find it on any vendor sights with any of my searches.

This is a known issue that GM refuses to address. You have to love GM quality control.

Can't remember what is it was called, but i bought it at my local chevy dealership, by looking at the scematics i was able to point it. It has about 7-10 screws that you have to remove in order to remove it. You need to remove the rubber weatherstrip in order to access the screws. Hope that helps.

I would also be interested in knowing what the part number and cost is as my driver's side is broken in the same spot. I have heard it is a frequent problem.

It's a very frequent problem. I don't have the part number - wish I did - the dealer repaired that under warranty. The dealer also didn't get it sealed back very well and it now leaks if it sits in heavy rain. If you have this repaired at the dealer, soak the fool out of the car and make sure it doesn't leak and if it does go back in there and demand they fix that too.

Thanks! Isn't weatherstrip glued on? This is looking more major for a single plastic piece of trim than I may have anticipated. More a eyesore to me than a real problem, but GM should fix it free if the problem is that widespread, warranty or not. I could understand if this was an entry level car, but that doesn't seem to matter to GM these days. If I could find it at a vendor site, I would probably order it since I don't expect my local dealer to offer any special deal. I just can't find it under anything I could think it would be called. Will run by and see our local corvette guru and see if he can help.

I have the same problem checked with dealer to see if they would cover it. The service writer said no way, checked with parts and the item was 110.00. I have not replaced it as of yet. Passenger side only.

Thanks!! I was afraid of that. That also means new weatherstrip if I mess it up.

Well I tried my dealer to get this fixed. No luck at all, they shot it down in 30 seconds saying that my GMPP warranty doesn't cover moldings or trim. What should I do know? Any suggestions?

Still haven't fixed mine because of the cost to buy new door seal weatherstripping. I haven't checked with a dealer for price. I doubt any will fix it for free because of the bulletin. Good luck if you do this yourself. Who knows, I may get bored and do mine one day.

Thats funny because I have GMPP and mine got fixed. I'd ask them why other dealers do it and not them. Make them call GM with you standing there.

On another note after mine was fixed and I moved to an area where I didn't have a garage I noticed mine now leaked like a siv. oh well.

I have the same issue with my driver side. I have not fixed it yet but the below part numbers should help:

Driverside: 10331563
Reveal molding - Side Hard top Left 1999 - 2004

Pass-side: 10331562
Reveal molding - Side Hard top Right 1999 - 2004

The above parts are the hard plastic parts (cracked parts). I am not sure what other parts are needed.
Check out the link below.

Hope this helps!
