Default 1998 Corvette CR5?

In the local paper there has been an ad in the classifieds...any idea what this is?

CHEVY '98 CORVETTE CR5 RARE!
Light blue-white top, light gray leather & carpet, 2-tone black/gray. 6.6k original miles. Serious inquiries only. $32,500 or reasonable offer.
Call xxx-xxx-xxxx
Is there something that an aftermarket company did and called it a CR5? (like the Z07 etc...)

Its obviously not a pace car...so it has me wondering what it is.

My guess is that since the 5 and R keys are so close it's just an overlooked typo.

My guess is either typo or the person who is selling it doesn't know what they're talking about.

I would agree with the above posts...just someone that doesn't have a clue.

according to idavette.net, there were only 300 "bright blue" exterior 98 verts...

I am guessing this is yet another "rare" C5...just like the rest of them.

C5Rs, but that's an entirely different animal. I did a search on google for CR5 and came up with a lot of hits, but all seemed to be talking about the C5R, so it would seem there are a lot of typos as well as confused people out there

It was called the C5R....

I have to agree - it sounds like a Nassau Blue convertible with a white top and a grey interior. Mileage is very low for a '98, but the price is still high.

I would think that is an extremely high price. The owner is either very, very proud of it or the hashish is still stuffed in the door panels.

Maybe they put non-pop C5R headlights on it and now consider it to be C5R like the ones that race in the ALMS series. It could have the 7.0 Liter C5R rage block.

Probably just a typo.

I'm not so sure that 6,600 miles all put on at the track would be such a great deal

Another confused seller - sounds like a normal vert to me. But, might be worth a call just to see what justifies the high price.
