If you have one of those 9volt set ups that plugs into the cigarette lighter none of your setting will disappear. If you don't no big deal, most of the time they all remain. Make sure you pull the negative off first for removal, and connect the negative last on install. If you drop any settings, all the reset info is in your manual. Cover your fender areas to prevent any spill or damage if something falls.
Yep - very little to do when replacing the battery. You don't need to keep a trickle charge from a 9 volt. Everything will be remembered except for the lock code on the radio.
Could you attach a Battery Tender to the positive cable and a ground? Theortically, this would keep a supply of current to the entire system avoiding any setting loss while the battery is swapped out.

Any Comments???
The battery tender may not continue to put out 12vdc once it detects the battery being removed.
Getting ready to change out the Delco Battery on my 2000 C5. Shows 600 CCA. Purchased a Wally World with 1000 CCA. Do you see a problem with that?
I am woundering what things will have to be reset and what if anything else should I expect to not work?
Please let me know what you think.
Larry
Yes I do, Take it back to wally world.
1. The heart of your car is under the battery,
thats why mine came with GM part #2277
gel mat battery no leakage, plus real light weight
plus mines over 5yrs old and still good.
2. That wally world leaks kiss your car good bye.
3. plus I like the original look
4. 1000 cca is huge and heavy and will not look good
and you want less weight not 20 pouinds more.

If you have the theft lock set on your radio, you may have to reset that, but other settings should remain. Mine did when I switched to the Optima.
In fact some of the 9 volt back up systems say not to use them on 2000 or newer cars. I had no problems with anything when I switched. Make sure you do it. I got mine out about a year ago, just in time. The original Delco had just barely started to leak. No one had ever set my radio theft lock so I had no problem. If you do, there are threads (perform a search) to tell you how to reset. It is a system to keep someone from stealing your radio, although I don't know why someone would. The EOM system is not that good. Once it is removed, that is the power is shut off to it, it will not work unless you know the preset code.
