I installed mine using the velcro method. Been on there for 4+ years and it still holds strong. I did have to remove a couple of pieces of the velcro a while back - not a problem taking them off and no paint damage.

I agree, I replaced my screens recently and when I replaced the velcro there was no damage to the paint.
I've been looking to buy the Z06 Front Inlet Screens (http://www.vetteshop.cc/default.asp?S=503&A=E&PKV=5004|0) for some time now but am concerned about the install.
Do you need to remove the nose to ensure the install is done properly? I figure the addition of velcro around the screen would make it difficult to simply push in from the front (tight fit) and safely secure?

Picture of install anyone?
To get the screens in from the front insert a piece of paper between the velcro pieces before you push the screen in. After the screens are positioned simply pull the paper out and presto it's secure. Works like a champ. Don't forget to punch out the foglight shrouds with a dremel or saw to get a little cold air action going.

Hmmm... makes sense but what about the adhesive side of the velcro? Taking the approach above I think you would have had to peel off the tape on the adhesive side of the velcro prior to pushing the screen into the opening? Given what I assume is a tight fit to start with I would think you would have issues with it sticking before you reached the final resting place? Just trying to picture this...

You attach the velcro onto the car and onto the screen, making sure you have the hook section on one and the loop section on the other, at corresponding spots. It is at this point you cover the velcro on the screen section with paper(usually one sheet for the top and one for the bottom) and insert it into opening, align the screen and then pull the paper out. You will then have a good secure fit.
I used 4 two inch strips, two on top and two on the bottom, on each side.

Ah... now I see the light You just need to be careful when you first attach the velcro to the car and ensure you have placed it where it will be out of sight when all is said and done.
