Hi, I love my corvette without a doubt but I recently bought an Infinity G35. I bought the car as a second weekend type vehicle. It is a 2003 G35 coupe with 6 speed MT with 15k on the clock, premium and sports package with brembos that came stock with the car. The acceleration cannot be compared to a corvette, but I must be honest that this car blew my mind with how exact and precise the steering and handling is. It is somewhat more refined and not as raw in the ways of torque compared to a C5, but the handling and balance is quite awesome and very comparable to my corvette. Just thought I'd share my experiences with this car for those of you thinking of getting a second car as maybe a daily driver instead of putting miles on your C5. This car is a great choice, but I still love the raw feel of power that the C5 gives me.
I have a 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe (auto) with the Sport Package, which includes 19" wheels. If you're talking about overall quality, it makes my Vette look sick.
True, the fit and finish is extremely nice. I almost wish the seat bolstering was in the C5, nice and firm leather seats that actually fit you like a glove. Although some of the interior trim needs better attention, but as a total package this car is a fantasic value. I also think that Brembos should come stock on the corvette in my opinion.

You might have an interest in this Video Clip. Last Spring, went out to Texas Motor Speedway, and while there were more vettes there by large margin, there were 3 Infinity G35's. One was tricked out, the other two pretty much stock.
I have to tell ya man.... The damn thing got MY attention. Hell, I ended up buying an 05 coupe, sport suspension, auto, and 18's sitting on a set of Pilot Sprots. You are absolutely correct. Get that kind of handing out of a 6 cylinder on a somewhat heavy car is impressive.
About 4 minutes into the video, I've lapped it once, then get behind it again. I don't think he had ever run before as all his turns were way wide and severly off the 'line', but there is one spot on the short straight, that I'm really pushing hard on him. Finally on the back turns raw horsepower finally got him in turn 3. (only two places allowed to pass...on the short straigt and on the back straight through turn 3 - must have passed before entering turn 4 or have to drop back.)
Sorry if anyone took this post wrong. I did not intend to use this post to point out the weakness of the C5 by bringing the strong points of the G35. I just love cars, I just happen to own both and was just pointing out some strengths on the G35 for those C5 owners maybe looking for another car with similar handling characteristics in a luxury coupe class. Anyways, I still love the value and performance of my C5, but I am just glad to venture out and find something worth sharing to car lovers in general.
I friend of mine at work drives one. He always picked on my daily driver 1996, 4 cylinder Toyota Tacoma (extended cab no less) when we drove home. There is a place where you have to merge on the freeway....... But when I brought the vette on weekends and other times he stayed and had extra work or another direction to go

My Vette is my passion, but I love cars. I really don't care what you drive, as long as you share the same passion. I'm not sure why some people get insulted when you talk about other makes of cars on this site. Any day around cars or just talking about them, is a good day for me.

With all due respect - have you read the post by Grumpy at the top of this page on how and what to post in C5 Gen?
The whole point is there are several places right here on this very forum where you can talk about "Other Cars". No one is paranoid about reading about another vehicle other than a C5 Corvette - but this particular forum is meant to discuss them - not a G35 Infiniti. I'm glad the original poster loves his "other car" but if it doesn't pertain to a C5 Corvette, it doesn't belong here.
