I don't see any issues - just make sure that you torque your new lugs to 100 lb.ft. and you should be good to go.

No big deal IMO as long as you torque them properly after.

I cannot see how that would cause any problems. I would ask your buddy to clarify his statement.

Did he say what the problems would be? None that I know of. You should be fine with the right torque.

Don't see a problem either as long as you torque them down to the right setting.

Problems?
Like if you take one off the rest with break off and your tire will go flying because of the immense pressure.

You'll be fine! I used to install wheels and tires for a living @ Super Shops (back in the day!)
The main thing is after about 10-20 miles you re-torque them to 100 lbs. this is the clincher do not forget to do this after a short while!
I would thank your friend though at least he is concerned for your safety but again you'll be alright!
Thanks,Matt

You shouldn't have any problems, but make sure that you use a torque wrench.

Since he's so knowledgeable on the subject have him list all the negative possibilities for you.
Personally, I've always "cracked" them with the tire on the ground and then raised the wheel for final removal. When I tighten them their firmly snug, wheel raised, then I lower the car and torque to 100 foot pounds.
Never a problem....I think your friends jealous, he probably drives a Mustang...

The only problem, you thought of it, and he couldn't.
