I have been patiently waiting for the right Vette. My first one about 30 years later than planned.
Looking for one between 2000 and 2004, preferably torch red or magnetic red. Found one in a local advertisement with 24,000 miles. Second owner has had it 3 years. Claims the paint and interior is nearly perfect. Only mechanical issue mentioned is that he put 2001 chrome wheels on it and the pressure sensors that came with the wheels do not work with his system. Does that make sense? He said that he is trying to get the original sensors back from the guy that bought his stock wheels. Options include auto, Z51, both tops, telescopic wheel and memory seats. No HUD (a negative from my view). Has put on Borla exhaust, K&N filter. I have not yet done a CARFAX, but he claims that it is clean and that he has never found any sign of previous damage.
What would seem like a fair range on price if it is in good condition? He is asking $25K.
What would it cost to replace sensors if that was necessary?

He's right - the '01 sensors will not work on a 2000 model year. If you have to buy new ones, Fred Beans sells them for about $350 shipped per set.
As far as the price, may be a little high, but the miles are not bad. The HUD is a very nice option to have. That being said, a HUD can be added for a very reasonable price. Don't let that stop you from getting the car if you like it - just use it as a negotiating tool.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Will the 2000 sensors fit on the 2001 wheels?
Any idea what I should expect to pay to add a HUD?
Yes the sensors will fit all the year wheels, but the receivers built into the cars are different from 97-00 and 01-04 The 97-00 are expensive and the other are not to bad.

the tps should fit no problem. i have put my 2000 tps in newer z06 wheels. have changed them for suburbans many times with different wheels. pretty universal. the 2000 tps are bigger i believe so putting the tire on can get tricky for the installers. get new (O) rings for the swap. they can go bad and cause air leaks if not fresh. the price is not too high if a very nice car. you can do better with some shopping, but.... then again may not find the RIGHT one for a while. for refference i paid $22500 for my 2000 with 32k miles on it last yr. it has hud. and all the other options. very nice car too.
the guy was in need of the money quick and didnt want to hassle with trying to advertise it. i wasnt in the market for one and made that offer just because i figured i would have to buy it for that. well.... i own it now
CARTOP2,
just to give you an idea of prices in the local area (Cottleville), I purchased from my neighbor (original owner) a 2000 convertible w/ 23,000 pampered miles for $30 K in March 2006. 6 speed with every option including Magnesium wheels. The car has no scratches or other signs of wear and a few people that are not familiar with the C5 vintage thought it was new.
As other have said, many Corvettes out there.
Don't buy one unless you are sure it is correct for YOU.
Take someone with you if you are not familiar with the issues at hand.

Cleaning up loose ends and wanted to say thanks again for your help. Decided to pass on the 2000 and bought a 2001 Vert as of today. Thanks for the help everyone. Photo is in me new avatar. Now I imagine I will spend some time in the tech discussions area.
I installed a HUD unit in my 2000. Less then $350 for eveything. Took the better part of a Saturday to install.
also you can ask a 100 people and they will all give you different answers if you like the car and it seems right for you , then buy it and be happy you got what you wanted . when i seen mine i knew i had to have it.
