Thinking of replacing my runflats with a non runflat.
I will need 2 different size spare tires. Does this sound like a bad idea just to save a couple hundred bucks??
Will also need to buy a jack and find room to store them.
Give me some input please

No it does not sound like a bad idea to save a couple of hundred bucks. But have you looked at tirerack.com, in particular the Kumho run flat. I don't have personal experience but they are far less than the OEM tires.
A lot of members buy the non runflat, a tire repair kit, pump and make sure they have a cell phone incase you can not repair the tire. This would be prefered over putting two spares in the back, along with jacks. It would take up a lot of room back there where the golf clubs should go.
I had the non runflats on my previous vette. Had no problems what so ever.
Try to find a GTO spare tire. Impressive piece of equipment. It is the same diameter as the front tires, and about 1/2 inch shorter than the rear tire.
I am ready to get new tires also and have wondered the same thing. I'm just going to buy a inflator kit a tire plug kit and carry my cell phone which has a AAA type service included in the Cell plan.
I'm not getting runflats due to the harsher ride quality.

That's what I have in mine. Sure wouldn't want to have to carry around a couple of tires and wheels in the back of the car.
I have never run runflats...Gone through 2 complete sets of tires, and currently have a dry set on one set of wheels, and a rain set on another set of wheels. I DO have towing insurance, and a can of fix-a-flat, but so far not needed either...
If a front tire goes flat, put a larger spare for a rear on. It will ride, drive, and look "funny" but your immediate goal should be to get to a tire shop and have the flat fixed, not drive for weeks on a spare.
Does the "Fix a Flat" stuff have any adverse effect on the tire pressure monitors? Also, what type of air compressor do most of you "non-drive flat" tire owners use?

Picked up a 12 volt comp at Wally World along with a plug kit. Had to use it twice with no problems. Also Fix a flat will kill your TPM. There is one brand you can use, but I forget what it is called. Comp and plugs are better.

No it's not a bad idea, it's a terrible idea.
Cell phone, patch kit, compressor, or cheaper run-flats.
Too much effort to save a few hundred dollars, there's more than just getting a flat tire,, it's getting a blowout while you're driving at highway speeds, the run flat can save your life, for me that's worth a few hundred dollars. You could also get a flat in undesirable places ,, ( ghettoville !!) you don't want to be out there struggling with a spare tire,, you just want to get out of there,, Choice is yours,,, good luck with it !

Yes, you can ruin your tire pressure monitors using the "Fix-a-Flat" stuff. Stay away from that stuff.
I like the kit that comes with the Z06 + I bought a bottle of the foam fix-A-Flat stuff to go with the patch & electronic air Inflator~ I've been lucky so far, no flats yet. I'm prepaired If If It does happen though.
The runflats are also alot heavier than the non-runflat tires. PS2's are 4 Lbs a tire lighter up front/& are 6 Lbs a tire lighter In the rear~just to give you an example. I'm extremely happy with these tires. Best of luck
Wow... I didn't know people worried so much about getting a flat.
I'll never go back to runflat unless there is some technological improvement to make them as good as non-runflats.
I have some tools, a tire repair kit, fix a flat can, small air compressor, and a cell phone. I'd like to add a jack and a lug wrench at some point, but thats a low priority.
If all that fails me and I'm in a jam, I won't care about trashing a tire pressure sensor with fix a flat or trashing a rim by driving on it.
