Which white faced gauges are they? I've seen some that say you don't have to remove the needles to put them on.

I put some red faced gauges on a honda I had. I used 2 spoons to pry off the needles. But putting them back on was a PITA i'll tell ya. I ended up snapping the gauge needle off the fuel gauge. SO I had to buy a new gauge tha was $115. SO then I tried installing them in the car to match the idle and gas gauge level. I ended up dropping my speedo needle in the dash and couldn't fish it out. It ended up shacking loose a week later. And my rpm's and speedo never read right cause I just couldn't match the needle position. And this was all on a Honda! I wouldn't wanna try that on my vette. Even though it would look . Good luck man!

Got it....the gauges I got were nex tech, you could slide them over the needles, however, it was a tight fit and ended up taking off the original gauge face and putting them as a replacement instead of a overlay....

Not bad for a 20 buck mod.....pics will follow as soon as I get home from offshore.....

Nope, I got them from that auction site.....aution store fcdtuning.

I searched for a while, it took quite a while to actually find them, seems as though not to many people stock the ones for the c5's. Search for the el reverse glow guages from nex tech.

Scott.

This is a pic of the guages....not my install, ,I'll take some as soon as I can....

VERY easy mod. Just did it and NO you do not have to remove any of the needles. There is about 2 mm of spacing over the stock guages. Just slide them over the needle and (Below housing) to get the little piece of the needle that extends over the housing on. You do have to apply a little bit of superglue to the back side to make them stick. Looks great and fired it up and the guages are perfect. Since the needles did not come off there is no difference in there position.
I got mine for 22$ shipped from that auction site.
Very worth while mod.
