My daughter told me this, boy cars are stick shift and girl cars are automatics. Sounded good to me... the green '93 was a girl and the new '01 is a boy!
Sounds right to me too! Good thinking why I own a "boy car" stick shift. More natural for me as a girl to hold on to, I mean handle, I mean shift...
I have owned 4 Corvettes and presently own 2. Never have I referred to my Vettes as "her." Considering the reputation of these cars..if anything ..they would be a "him" but most likely an "it". Why the "her or she"?
Because most vehicles I've owned are "tempermental"
My vetts is a She because I spend way too much time with her to be considered inadimate, She has a life of her own. plus thinking about loving something that is a He as much as i love my Vette is Gay
It's an inanimate object. Inanimate objects have no gender.
That said - call it anything you want, just don't expect me to refer to my Corvette as "she" or "her".
The French say otherwise... everything has a gender associated with it.

This goes way back in time for men to call their equipment SHE. It's just like a woman in the sense that if you don't treat her just right she'll make you pay and pay big in the end. The term is tempermental. Your wife is always pretty and thin no matter what the reality is. If you don't stroke her just right it can ruin the night. Compare that to the car. If you don't keep everything in tune she self destruct when you push her and need her most.
Besides that, if you asign it as he and grab his stick, pop his clutch and run him through the gears, your going to have issues down the road.
Beautiful too look at with graceful lines and curves. Fast when "it" needs to be, but oh so sweet when just going slow. You would do almost anything to keep "it" safe and sound. You spend oppulent sums of money on "it" without too much of a thought......you tell me if not calling it a "HER" what would you call "it?"
When you have something that is considered to be a "Thing of beauty" be it your car or anything else, you refer to it as a "her". Now some of you might refer to your thing of beauty as a "him" but thats your choice. Me being a man who don't think men a beautiful, only women, well you know what I mean.
I always referred to my car as a "she" until I got thinking about it.
I can do whatever I want to with it whenever I want. It's always ready and waiting for me. I choose how it looks. It's performance is totally up to how "I" feel. I can spend as little or as much as I want on it completely at my choosing, etc..
