I learned to drive Sprint Cars and other types of race cars from an old man back in 64 who drove them for years.
He said every driver should be able to be blindfolded and be able to find every control and gadget on the dash and be able to work it.
I also got my private ticket and my istructor said basically the same thing. Learn the instrument panel on everything you fly as if you were blindfolded.
I taught my daughter to drive her Camaro and my Vette the same way.
The C5 is pretty well laid out ergonomically, although there are a few things I'd change.
Do you feel that you have enough seat time to in your Vette to be able to get to everything by touch?
and
If you could change something (ergonomically) what would it be?
Yes I know my Vette very well. If I could change anything It would be the Seats and the Speakers. I love the seats, It's just that I wish they were a little thicker. I would prefer the seats In the C6 Coupe. I like the Bose system too, It's just not as clear as I would like. I think Its a pretty good system though. Others will disagree. The Vette Is so easy to drive, you don't need to learn where everything Is...As long as you can drive It and know how to work everything a blindfold Is not required. I would move the wiper control stalk to a switch on the dash or to the left stalk and move the light control to the dash. That wiper control takes up space where I move my hand for the radio, shifter, etc. Always bump it.
P S If you were blindfolded why would you want the speedometer upside down?

I think I could find all the controls blindfolded - they are laid out pretty well. I would move the gas lid release from the center console to the dash area like on the C6.

I'm fairly certain that I could use the controls blindfolded. However, there are a few things to that I would change:
Place radio controls somewhere on the steering wheel. This is the only control (besides gear selector) that requires you to remove a hand from the wheel.
I'd also move the wiper to a combo control on the left, and the headlights to the dash. Twilight sentinel can turn them on. Why are they so close...flash-to-pass?
I don't have any real complaints, though. The major controls are where they need to be when things get serious.

The fuel door button location is awful. Especially when you always forget to hit it until your already out of the car

I feel I have to compromise my seat (fore and aft) position because of where the gas pedal is (again fore and aft) compared to the clutch. IE; for my right leg to be comfortable, I then couldn't depress the clutch to the floor. So the seat gets adjusted for the clutch, that in turn makes the gas pedal too close to me and on long drives my gas leg gets uncomfortable. The Wifes '06 Quest has power pedals that motor forward & backward.(all of them together) This might help but it seems to me more that the gas pedal is much closer to the driver than is the clutch/brake pedals. And I also agree to relocate the gas door switch.

I too like the seats, but would like a little more padding.
I have also heard negative comments regarding the Bose system. However, mine sounds great and I have no desire to change anything about it.
I find my 2000 FRC is pretty well laid out, but two changes #1 heated seats, had them in my BMW and mis them, secondly, I would change the layout of the wiper controls as well they seem in the way.
