This happened on a drive after I washed out the engine comp. I cleared the code and drove around awhile and nothing came back up. Possibly water in a sensor or connector? Still can't locate P0492 anywhere.
I don't think that's a valid code, perhaps someone else can find it. Are you sure you read it correctly? Perhaps P0462? Anyway, watch for it so you can double check on the code number.

I found this with a Google search.
P0492 Sec Air Inj Sys (bank2)
The computer does not see a change in the o2 readings when it turns the airpump on to test it.
Possible problems are a bad air pump (full of water?),a bad airpump relay, a bad check valve, a bad vac control solenoid that supplies vac to the air control valve,a vac hose problem, or a bad solenoid itself.
The airpump is located in the right front of the engine compartment. It should run when the engine is first started cold.
If you dont know how to check the system from this info then you will need to have your mechanic have a look.

Sorry for the delay,my PC crashed about an hour after I last posted. Thanks to a package from Mr. Dell, it's all good now. I think "dadvan99" has probably hit it right. I had just washed the engine comp when it threw the code. Everything is dry now and no more codes! Is this place
or what? Thanks again!!!
