My wife and I were heading on vacation when we pulled into a gas station with a Subway Shop attached. Baby Blue ('03 Vert) was looking good with the top down on a late summer evening. There were 3 or 4 teenage boys with a couple of girlfriends pressing their noses against the window as we got out.
Inside one of them says, 'Hey mister, can I drive your car for about 5 minutes?"
I responded, "Son, this is a Corvette, you can't drive a Corvette for just 5 minutes!"
A few that stand out the most was I drove it around the country this last summer and people on the east coast were acting like they had never seen a Corvette before. Every time we would stop to eat people walking by the car would just stop, stare, and point at this or that. Also at the Corvette factory, as I was taking pictures by the main entrance, the workers were walking out and they all stopped and pointed where I had the license cover filled in and couldnt stop complimenting on how well it looked. Another great one was a little boy who was on a corner with his father started jumping up and down pointing as I went by. Made remember doing the same thing to other 'Vette owners when I was little.

In no particular order....
1. You don't sweat much for a fat guy.
2. Nice job - I see your face has cleared up a little since I last saw you.
3. Thank you for not annoying me more than you do.
4. I see your swelling has gotten a little better - oops, I didn't realize you're not swollen.
In a store parking lot one day with the wife about to leave and a big ole' country boy in a bigazz fancy pickup with his wife pulls up next to us and says, "That is one baaaad mamma' jamma'!!! That is one baaaad mamma' jamma'!!!", while he nodded enthusiastically. I opened the cutouts, started the car and gave him what fer as I pulled away.
I love when i see little kids stare at my car and yell "NICE CAR" and then at the other end of the spectrum... I go to the gas station and I see an old timer checking it out and come over to me with the same responce...I guess what Im trying to say is that the Corvette is a truly amazing car, and gets respect from everyone!

Nothing much in my car---although people do tell me how nice it is but I had the trucks honkin away while I was driving my husbands 84 witht he top off---guess chicks in vette in NE PA are rare---why think I can sell myself for lots of money being rare???
Sitting in a line up of 20+ vettes waiting for the parade to start and three teenagers walk past me twice and then walk back to where mine is and one says "I likeeeee this one the best. Coolest one out here" pointing to mine as the other two nod in agreement. I loved it. I was sitting on the curb and they didn't see me.
I started this thread to see if I was **** about being proud of the vette or not. Ok how do you tell a story that you want to tell the world about without sounding like an arrogant aZZwhole.
Any my corvette will be on display at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green in the rotating display at the entrance for the month of January. I excited as all get out.
Now for Christmas, I am having a detailing party at my house......all are invited.........hehe
One night I just finished stomping all over some rice; they all followed me to the gas station to congradualate me not only on having a car that kicks the sh*t out of theirs, but driving it like it's supposed to be driven...
Wasn't for a vette cause i dont own one....yet. But on the day I brought my old car home (98 firebird Ws.6) myself and my father were driving by a bunch of kids, and they gave us the light um up signal, I looked at my dad and let those suckers loose. All of them were yelling and giving the thumbs up. Best moment I've ever had in my life...

Best compliment was the first day of ownership, drove by the school and kids all over were saying "look at that car,man that is one cool car"they were pointing and staring and all of sudden i was surrounded by this kids asking for a ride
Best moment i took my 9 yr old neice for a ride she giggled when I punched the throttle in first gear and spun the tires much to her mothers and my stuffed shirt brothers horror. She kept asking me to go faster, I had to oblige.....

I was driving my Z the second day I owned it and I was coming to a stop at a light next to some guy in a cavalier and he was dead staring at me as we rolled side by side and rear ended the car in front of him at the light. Everyone was ok he hit them doing like 3 mph and there was no damage but it had me laughing and smiling the whole way home.
I pulled into a Wendys and there was a group of kids talking and the one kid was telling a story as I pulled up and all his buddies started to look at my car and he turned arond and was like "Oh Sh*t!"
I have college chicks in town ask me for rides whenever I have it out, thats always a great conversation starter
I took my wife out to Red Lobster to eat a couple of months ago and backed into the 1st parking space in front of the doors. We put our name on the waiting list and waited outside. A few minutes later I heard a little boy (around 8) tell his fathe ,Hey Dad look at that Corvette!!! I looked at them and said son would you like to sit in that Corvette ? He said yes sir, so I unlocked the Vette and let him sit in it for a while. As we were leaving to get seated the Father thanked me and told me I had made his son's day, little did he know that his son had made mine !!!!!
It happens so often, I can barely remember any one time that stands out.
When I am at a show I love when I let kids open up the door, climb in and family members take a picture of them behind the wheel. Last weekend, everyone was posing near my Vette, and I'll tell ya it's really not all THAT special!
One of the good ones for me was I was pulling out of parking lot and a boy about 4 was standing holding his Dads hand and he watched with his jaw down to his knees as I slowing pulled out .His eyes were huge and I gave him a big smile and a nod and a little rev. As I was about to pull away he was tugging on his Dad and I read his lips as he said "Dad look at that race car" ,he will no doubt be a car guy.or should say is !
