I just had something happen to me and I thought it was one of those head swelling, make you feel good about owning your corvette. I'm curious what has happened to others to make your head kinda swell & feel good about your vette?
I was driving down a street and seen a bunch of young children around 6-7 years old and they all stopped and watched me drive by. I laughed and enjoyed the moment. The look on thier face was priceless.
One night I just finished stomping all over some rice; they all followed me to the gas station to congradualate me not only on having a car that kicks the sh*t out of theirs, but driving it like it's supposed to be driven...
I agree with the poster about kids and the vette...
sat my 8 month old in the drivers seat, first thing he did was lean up and grab the wheel with both hands and make a growl sound! I just about passed out from laughing so hard...they know what a real machine is...even so young!

Not one thing in particular comes to mind, but I love to hear the compliments on the car when I show it at car shows. Seems like all generations of people like Corvettes.
A few weeks ago during a warm spell we were having I went to the movies with a few friends. I had the roof off and as I was parking a little kids yelled "Ohhh dad! Look at THAT vette! I want one of those!"
It made me feel nice
The other time was someone was staring at my car as I drove by and they didn't realize traffic stopped and they almost rear-ended the car in front of them

About same with me. Two days after I got the car I stopped in a parking lot by a pre-school where the kids were out playing in their fenced in area, and they all came to the fence and said what a neat car it was. Guess even micro tots can appreciate.
When I first got the car, I drove over to show my parents. (Mom used to have a 1975 Stingray). A kid was dribbling a b-ball in the street. As I drove toward him, he stands off to the side, holding the ball. As I went past him, his mouth dropped open, and the ball just fell out of his hands as he stood there, frozen and wide-eyed! It was great!
Me and a friend were going to dinner. As we were stopped at one light, the driver in the next lane motioned for me to roll the window down - "she" said what a beautiful car - what year is it? I replied a "2002". She then said and 02? with a curious look on her face, then she said, you want to trade? I of course said "NO"! Again the same night at a different light another driver motioned for me to roll the window down - this time a 30 something year old male said "Man that car is kick ***", what year is it - I replied a 2002, he said you sure do take good care of it, looks like it just came off the show room floor.
I drive my car a bunch... almost everyday, but it's usually the kids' reaction that's the coolest. When they all stop playing and yell "Nice Car!!!" Or point in awe as I rumble by it's pretty cool.
And then there's the ladies... most recently my buddy and I got all from a car full of fairly attractive females after I punched it in the tunnel.
Funniest was when we got flashed when my gf at the time was in the car w/ me
I'm a big fan of the passengers in other vehicles on the interstate that notice you before you've even got to their vehicle. Then watch the entire time you are behind them, passing them, and after you are in front.
Also, every single person on the sidewalks as you drive down the road that are locked in dead stare. You try not to look. Sometimes you wanna just say "You like?".
just picked it up from the shipping yards - after a 5month spell without....
in a brand new country (moved from PA to the UK) - the first place i stop (gas station) - there's a guy getting out of his cab, walks over and immediately says ' i dont know what that is ............ But I WANT one'
not 40 minutes later at the same gas station (with a jet wash car wash system) - as yet, unaccustomed, to the boring drone of european cars, I hear the familiar (reassuring) sound of HORSEPOWER - turn around to find a MUSTANG (94-96)
the wife smiles at me, and OF COURSE, Even Here, the Mustang driver SNUBS me!!!

My son is 16 mos. and that is all he thinks about is "brrrrrrdddnnnn brrrrrddnnnnnn." He rides in my lap on the long gravel road that we live on (yes my car is black and yes my car is always semi-dirty ) and steers it AND tries to shift the gears too!!!! He already knows alot about it for his age. So I got him a c5r powerwheels for Christmas.

In the summer months when the kids in the neiborhood are out playin...I come driving home from work and they chase me clear to the driveway and ask....Can I ride in it?...Sell me your car!!!!....I want one!!! Always brings a smile to my face
I loved when someone asked me one time if it was brand new...my car is an '03 and he thought it was an '06! I guess our cars do look better than the C6!
Twenty some year old kissed my window at a crosswalk
Twenty some year old complimented me about my vette and asked for a ride while i was at the same light.
Another time while pulling into a parking space an absolutely stunning middle age lady walked completely around my vette and said that is one nice looking vette
Plus many more, but those are those most memorable. It was nice because all the women were hot I guess ugly women don't like vettes?
The biggest compliment was when I was driving down the beach with the top down. I come to a stoplight. there was a group of people crossing the street, out of the blue this girl asks for a ride, I said yes and the girl ditches the guy she was with and jumps in the car with me. It was awesome.
About two weeks after I purchased the Vette I went to a party and pulled up as a girl I used to date was getting out of her car. She looked in my direction and her jaw dropped. I just waived and parked. Later she came up to me and comminted on the car and asked if I was dating anyone.
I show my car allot and got tons of compliments and trophies. But my most satisfying compliments come from right here on this board. I have read allot of nice things and comments about how nice I have made my Vette look. No one knows Vettes better than you all and when I see the ,or ,or , well that is the best for me.
