Default Greetings and salutations...

Don't know why it me so long to find this place but glad I did. Hello to all and hope you are all well...

Sorry to start off with a question but this is how I stumbled across this forum, so here goes - I am looking to buy some type of seat covers for my '99 coupe as the leather is starting to look "old" and I want to give them some protection and look good also. I've seen neoprene covers from ZIP Corvette that look like they would be nice but wonder - has anyone here used them? Any pros or cons? Any better ideas for around the same $? (approx. $250)

TIA and happy vetting!

Welcome to the forum. I use the cotton covers on my car to protect the leather. There are a number of approaches you can take. I think Wet Okole makes some covers which are the neoprene type. You could also replace the leather, either new or used. Several vendors have new skins and even foam, with Vette Essentials being absolutely top of the line depending on your budget. Another option is to watch the for sale section, as sometime when someone upgrades to Vette Essentials they will sell the old leather skins.

Good luck

Default Thanks Vettenuts...

I have seen the Essentials seats and they are a bit high for me. How are the cotton type for driving? Any issues?

Thanks for the welcome and suggestions!

Personally, I would replace my leather with new leather covers, but you have to do what works for you.

They are OK, but they do shift around a bit when you get in and out. I use them primarily to protect the leather.

I hate leather seats. I used to use cloth covers in the summer and sheep skin in the winter. The cloth covers only last one or two seasons.

I now use Wet Okole covers, they are the best. They are not cheap, about $280.

Welcome to the forum. Wet Okoles are a good cover for the seats. If you want to replace the leather and not go as expensive as the Vette Essentials ones, Mid-America and leatherseats.com sells some good alternatives.

Default Welcome to the club!!

Ive had the "wet suit" covers from corvette central for over a year,
they were about $220.00 plus they had free shipping. These things are great!! Warmish in the winter and I dont "stick to the leather" in hot weather! I got black covers and with a black interior you really cant tell they are in there! They have not show wear and my vette is a daily driver go for them!!!

Question for anyone running the Wet Okoles. Any issues with the leather under them with regards to wear or staining? I put covers on primarily to protect my leather since my wife is always eating snacks and drinking tea in the car. I like the looks of the Wet Okoles but was afraid the underside might cause issues on the leather.

Thanks for any feedback.

Default Great question Vettenuts...

I was wondering about that issue also, since protection is what I'm after and my current leather is grey in color.....perhaps someone will be able to shed some light.
