For what it's worth. In November of 2005, I looked at an '04 Z06 with 3,800 miles. The dealership came down to $35,900 on it - and that was a year ago. This was a dealership that moves several corvettes a year and is owned by people who race them, so they knew what they had.

It would seem their price is a touch high, but if you like the car, have a ball.

And, yes, they are hoping for the puppy dog close. Once you see it in your driveway, it'll be tough taking it back. It is year end and winter, not prime time for corvette sales. Make sure you understand your options.

Congrats! My 02 is blue, but the wife's C5 is yellow. Nice color on the car. Enjoy your ride, and for goodness sake take it to the track at least once. You truly won't know what it can do unless you try in that sort of environment.

I paid more than I wanted to for my z, but am very, very, happy with the deal I made and have never given it a second thought.
13,500 miles is more like 20,000 km

well i didn't really mention this but my wife bought it. I will be maintaining it and I have permission to drive it, which includes the autocross . She will be driving the car to work everyday. mon-fri 20 miles each way. The car probably was not intended for that. But who cares you only live once.

Congrats dude!! Nice ride..

I picked up my '04 Z06 at the end of March this year, and paid 36,998 with 14K on the clock. Found it on eBay, dealership was in my area so I drove down .. sticker was higher than "buy it now" price of 36,998. Dealership wouldn't budge on "special internet price".. car was mint, as far as I could tell.

I think you did OK... and these cars do FINE on a 20-mile commute.

My wife bought our 01 yellow C5 and I tell people that she lets me drive it slow in the driveway :-)

sounds good, I was looking into some kind of autocross event a while back. The SCCA was running at gulf greyhound park Dec. 3rd. I was going to hit that with my Z-28 but something came up. Now I really want to hit a event with the Z06. I think it was like $30 to run. We are over in Kingwood, I'm sure we will hook up sometime in the future

Welcome to the forum and congrats of the new ride! You will love it.

Personally I don't much like the yellow, but that's just my preference, whatever floats your boat.

Gotta love all them 'Vettes, esp. the Z06es!

Default Sale prices

I just bought an 04 Z06, 5660 miles, blk on blk, K40 laser jammer, chromed rims, Lloyds mats and partition, 72K 0 deductable full warr., undercar protectors (the little wheels up front and the alum skid plates on rockers), car cover, 15% tint, original owner w/ all docs., SoCal area for $33,600. I looked for a couple of months, and there are lots for sale. As a financial guy, I can tell you that these will show up wholesale pretty soon as mortgages catch up with the 'big spenders'. Be patient and you'll find one for cheap. Buy private party orig owner if you can. Good luck.

My '04 ZO6CE RPO Z16 purchased new $52,300 and that was a deal. I drive it like I stole it. Still stock, the power is only as good as the driver. Throttle, throttle, brake, brake, turn turn, go go go!
