Default 2004 Z06

hello, 100% new to the corvette game. Drove home a 2004 Z06 from the dealer this weekend. Not a official owner yet, but given the weekend and the car to think about it. We are at a price of 36,994. It has around 14,000 miles. I have reseached the options on this website. It looks like z06's all came with about the same options. Very impressed with the car, and it appears mint. Just want to know if this is a fair price?

At this time of year I'd offer $35.5; but I've got the same car with 4500 miles and I wouldn't sell at that price. You never know until you make the offer, you might just get lucky and the dealer needs to move it before the end of the year.

Ahhh, the Puppy Dog close...

It's December. In less than a month that car will turn one year older and the value will drop. Beside the dealership needs to sell cars to make their sales goal. They are much more inclined to take your offer. They probably don't have any other buyers lined up either, if they did they wouldn't have let you take it home for the weekend.

I'd offer them less and be prepared to walk away. I just bought a 2003 z06 w/ 7014 miles for $33,500 by offering them my final price and walking out the door. They called me on my cell phone when I was a block away at my car...

Good luck!

If you get yellow you'll pay more.

Great buy. Go for it.

It is yellow and the mileage is 8600 I checked the odometer, the paperwork said 13,864 miles. We started negotiating at $49,999. But you know that was too much! I thought about sticking with $35,000. But I don't think they are going to come down much from where we are at. Because we haggled for 3 hrs to get to the current price.

Simply depends how much you want that particular car...34K - 35Kish is a reasonable price...there are plenty out there...if you spend a few extra K for the car and it won't keep you up at night...pull the trigger and enjoy.

make sure when you are looking at the mileage you are actually looing at the odometer and not one of the trip meters. If they said it 13,800 I would check it out. Price seems high.

I scrolled thru the trip meter several times. It says odometer 8642 miles, then goes thru trip a and trip b. I looked at several on e-bay and or other car ad.s. The buy it now prices seem in the ball park of $35-$36k with slightly higher miles. I am thinking $35,000 even would be a fair price to offer and not getting robbed by the dealer...

When I looked at the Kelly Blue Book value for a 04 Z06 in "excellent" condition, it shows
$41,975 suggested retail (dealer asking price)
$35,675 trade in value
$38,720 price from private party

If the paperwork says 13k and the odo says 8600, something is wrong. Get that straightened out before you put any money on the car. You don't want a title or some other trail that smells wrong for when you sell the car.

If it was the other way around, I'd say buy the car, then go back to them with a threat of odometer fraud. You'd easily get a $10k check to keep the peace. Most states have either a 2x or 3x the selling price of the car fine, for the dealer if odo fraud is confirmed.

The paperwork I am refering to is only a yellow colored generic type form. Its not the real deal paperwork. The mileage is now coming closer to 8700 I'm sure you can realize how much fun we are having with the weekend test drive. All I can say is this car is AWESOME!!!

This may sound stupid, but check to make sure you are not reading Kilometers and they were looking at miles, 13,000 miles i believe is close to 8700 km. good luck and enjoy and never look back if you do buy. Remember this: when you look for the "best" and you find it, there always is "better" out there somewhere, so remember never look back after the sale. I paid more than I wanted to for my z, but am very, very, happy with the deal I made and have never given it a second thought.

A buddy bought one in the last month-04 with around 9000 miles for $34,500. The yellow has an additional charge when buying new but used, it does not add to the price. If you like it, buy it if not keep looking! Good luck.

If you multiply the 8600 miles by 1.62 you will be at 13982 Kms I think it must have been in Kms when they wrote it down.

well we are proud owners of a 2004 millenium yellow Z06 with 8747 miles. Thanks for all the replies. I am comfortable with the $36995 price for the car based on the condition its in and seeing what everyone else paid. Plus after driving the car. I feel its worth $50,000, because it is quite frankly, the most impressive car I have ever driven. I can't even imagine what a 07 Z06 is like. Alls I can say is this one will work for me. I have many questions. But probably will start new posts for them. Thanks again and GOD BLESS CHEVROLET
