You really don't need a pressure washer if you have a bottle of good ole elbow grease sitting around. Keep the pressure washer for the house or deck not the vette

I got plenty of elbow greese... I was just curious.
Run it across the top of your foot to test it first. If it gashes you to the bone than it is not safe for the vette...
...Don't really do it...ok?
Peace

Can't press the gas or clutch w/o a foot...
Instead, I will try it on the neighbor's cat. If the fur comes off, then it won't touch the Vette. But it will make a perfect weapon for the cat.
I think it will be fine if you have it adjusted to the proper pressure level. I like hand washing mine, but at times, I do take it to the spray and wash when I need to do it quickly.

See if you can find out what the self-serve car washes use in terms of pressure on their equipment. I use a spray and wash quite often on mine and no damage has been done.
I wash the outside of mine, when I do, the old fashioned way, a bucket of soapy warm water and a sponge. For the engine compartment I spray it liberally with Simple Green, let sit for 10 minutes or so, then hose off with hot water.

I suppose if you didn't take the gun and point it point blank to the paint to get the dirt off on full blast, it should be fine.
Perhaps if you were gentle, it would do less harm.
BobbyG: What is this? "...hose off with hot water." My water hose only has cold water...

I don't agree with all the finger-waggers. Look, just exercise some common sense. 1200 PSI at 3-5 feet away versus 1200 PSI an inch or two from the paint are two different things.
Just keep it out of the engine bay with all the sensitive electronics and you're golden.
I pressure wash my vert all the time, including the top, but just not at close range.
Doesn't hurt anything. Does it look like my 5-year-old paint is washing off? Puh-leez.

Awesome info... thanks! Do you use anything else to clean the top? Like RAGTOP or a recommend method for cleaning the top?
