has anyone fixed the climate control display?
when it's dim... is it just weak solder joints, or an actual component?

easy fix
This is an easy fix. Look in the tech section, you will find several write ups on it there. My soldering was way less then perfect and it has worked like new for about seven months now. Any questions shoot me a pm

Very easy! It is just some soldering joints. I did mine 8 months ago and still working great.Dave

Did the fix/soldering myself based on those instructions and it worked like a charm. Note though that those resistors aren't poked through the board, they sort of sit on it...held in place by solder. Don't sweat it though. It's sort of a 'remelt' process...doing the job the original production didn't do very well. Good luck! A '2' on a difficulty scale of 1-5. Tiny parts.

I'm not terribly concerned with component soldering (I'm an Electronics Tech w/ the Coast Guard)
might try to takle this later today.
