I read a post that a dealer drilled holes in the front of his C6 to intall his front lic. plate frame. I have a C6 on order and told my dealer if he does that I will refuse the car. Has anyone of you ever heard of such a thing ?
SEEN IT!! they have a glue/tape that is used and sent with the front plate pkg. some dumb azz lot attendent did this to one instead. lots of people think that they are screwed on. most are really done with that glue/tape stuff. its in two spots and holds really good.
Dealers do it all the time, even in states that don't require front plates...they put their advertising plate on the bumper.
I ordered a '93 Mustang Cobra in a particular color and options package. The dealer punched the front bumper (in spite of my prior warnings) and added their advertising plate. I got my deposit back since it was a clear violation of our written agreement. They wanted to "repair & paint", but I refused. I bought the same car from a dealer with better hearing.

Refuse the car, Yeah. I told the dealer you put a sticker or emblem, clean or remove the plastic from the interior,....... and don't you dare put it up on a lift. I'll refuse the car. He got the message. Took the Corvette home right off the truck as soon as office transfered my plates.Save the Wave. Good Luck with your new C6 as soon as you get it.

The guys in the C6 forum will probably have more information for you.

The early 05 C6 cars had the front plate mounting bracket screwed to the front bumper cover. GM came out with the tape mounting system so at least somebody could take the front plate off if they wanted and not leave holes in the cover.
Have you asked your dealer to not install the front plate when they do the PDI and setup? Chances are that they will leave the front plate bracket in the car for you. Getting stopped by the CHP or city/county for no front plate is another matter.
I told my dealer not to put the front bracket on another car of mine, and they did it anyway.. They claimed that the state troopers come by and tell them they cannot sell a car without the front bracket.
It seems like they have not been as strict on the C6's as I have several friends that have bought new cars without the bracket mounted.
I have seen some aftermarket versions of the bracket that mount in the grill so there are no holes and the bracket is more secure than with tape.
