I just recieved a christmas gift from my sister the other day. She got me a ACI Rear spoiler. Here is a picture of the spoiler
The spoiler came with bolts, but I do not want to drill holes in the rear bumper. Do you think some heavy duty double sided tape with alcohol will hold the spoiler down that way I wont have to drill. A body shop used double sided tape and alcohol on my other car and its spoiler and the thing was on there really good. Anyone have any ideas or past experience with this???
Please help me, drilling is the last thing I want to do
I've got the ACI on mine but I drilled it. I'm not sure that tape will hold this spoiler on the car due to the limited amount of "surface area" for it to hold (unlike the Carvaggio that goes all the way up to the trunk lid area, the ACI covers about half the area).
The high amount of tape that would be required to hold this spoiler on would probably damage the rear section anyway if you ever decided to remove it so to me the drilling seemed like the best option. If you tape it you will also have to cut those bolt posts off the spoiler as well.
Good luck. There are other spoilers with less weight that may work better taped on than the ACI would.

How do you like the ACI wing??? Does it look good? I never saw one in person yet.
I have the ACI spoiler. It looks GREAT. Ever year I go to Carlisle, the compliments I get are unreal. The spoiler looks better than the one the above reply referred to. It fits the profile of the car better. I had abody shop do the install. No problems. The holes are only an issue if you ever want to return the car to stock.
I wish I had a sister who was that thoughful!!!!!!!

Thanks Fred
I will hopefully be fine with my install not using the bolts. I will definetly post pictures after the install.
Yea my sister is great she drove out all the way out to D&M Corvettes (about a 1 1/2 hr drive) to go pick it up. I never even asked her for it. I saw it on the internet one night and told her I want to buy it. Next thing you know she gets it. Maybe i should tell her I want to buy a Twin Turbo Kit.

I love the ACI spoiler. I get lots of good comments about it at various shows (corvette shows and general car shows as well). To me it changed the entire look of the car but in a subtle way.
I think you will enjoy the spoiler. Congrats on having a great sister too.
I've had the ACI spoiler in my Pewter 00 cvoupe for about two years now. I love it and get lots of compliments too! I would be concerned about using tape, like Blue Dream said..not enough surface area on this spoiler to hold properly IMHO.
I did the install myself...after the first hole it's easy!
