Default Drove a C6 Yesterday

Please C6 guys take no offense to this. I finally noticed the C6 was starting to grow on me. I went to the dealership grabbed the KEys to a 2007 C6 talk about some nice luxury ....Wo it was like driving a fast lexus. Now I said fast lexus because thats what it felt like was a fast luxury car. I personally thought the shifting was great but the clutch was too loose for me. The power was a bit nimble for my taste and it seems as if the Corvette has lost its Muscle with the new C6 im excluding the C6 Z06 ofcourse. All in all I was happy to jump back in to my 413 CI C5. I remember jumping in to a C5 for the first time made me buy it a week after I drove one. The C6 did not do it for me.

Why don't you post it to the C6 Forum then

The C6 does it for me and I'm looking forward to adding one to the stable. A stock C6 hasn't lost an ounce of muscle to a stock C5.

I've driven a couple C6's, they are nice. It's the styling that keeps me in my C5.

I drove a C6 vert a couple of months ago and for me, there was no loss of performance between it and the C5. It had plenty of power (more than my C5 which it should have) and it handled very, very well. I guess we all see different things between the two cars. Someday I hope to have a C6 - either to go with my C5 or to replace it.

C6's remind me of my C4 Corvette. My last C4 was a 95. Small and tight in the interior. Hard ride.Seems to me the only thing the C6 has is 400 hp,nav, and the Z06. I'll take a C5 anyday. It's the Best.I wonder how many C6 owners had a C4 and graduated to a C5. I think if they had a C4 they wouldn't want to get rid of a C5 to get a C6. Just seems like going backwards to me. I knew the minute (Aug 2004 at Carlisle) I sat in a C6 it wasn't for me. Just my .02. No offense to all my C6 brothers and sisters. Have a Safe and Happy New Year. >George

I thinking about a used C6 maybe a 06 when prices come down around $38000. I only wish the A6 had 3:46 gears like my a4 LS2 GTO had.

I'd like to have a C6 for a daily driver. But for style/sex appeal, it's a C5 all the way.

I have driven several C6's. Great machine but to get one equipped like I want the price is over $57,000 for the coupe. I only gave $41,000 for my C5 less than 4 years ago. As for the looks I'll keep my C5. When I first saw my C5 is was WOW!! The C6 is lacking in the WOW factor for me.

I like the looks and the performance of the C6. Although the interior feels smaller or more cramped to me.

Prefer not to give up the C5, but I will have a C6 one of these days...

With the C5 it was love at first sight. The C6 kind of had to grow on me, but now that it has, I can definately see myself having one in the future. Just not at the expense of my C5.

My $0.02... I really like the C6, but it didn't jump at me like the C5 did. I was 15 when the C5 came out and my father showed me the pics of it in teh Washington Post. Even in pixilated black/white I knew I had to have one some day.

The C6 is really only a styling/comfort evolution form the C5, there is nothing the C6 offers that you cannot mod into the C5. However, w/ the C4, the C5 was a drastic jump in technology w/ the hydroformed frame, rear mounted transmission, and LS series V8.

What it all comes down to... is there will always be the newer, better, cooler car. If you have to always upgrade then you'll never be happy.

To me my '01 Z06 is fairly rare, original (being and FRC) and a dead sexy car. Even after 4 years I still walk into work looking over my shoulder admiring it.

So I chose modding... new bumper, new hood, big cam

Default c5 vs c6

I wont trade my c5 in for a c6. Two reasons .....

1. The style on the c5 is much more appealling than of the c6. Starting from the pop up lights down to the fine curved end.

2. I will never get half of what I invested in my c5 back.

I do admit, the c6 is attractive but my c5 has the upperhand.

I guess I'm old fashioned because I have a hard time grasping the concept of luxury options on a sports/performance car. I grew up in the 50's and 60's, and to me me a Corvette should be loud, ride rough, and have few creature comforts. If I want to drive a car with a navigation system and a cushy ride, I'll take my Infiniti.

I'd love to have a C6, but don't want to get into debt for one.
