Thanks Bro!, I ordered the Halo LED tail lights, side markers with LED bulbs, and the blacked out Adjure backups. There is a post in here about some 50 watt halogen backup bulbs from Ecklers that I will look into for additional visibility. I'll post some pics when I get the goods.

Those backups look really bright even with the blackout. As always, your car is looking Steve

Ordered these from Ecklers and they're supposed to be brighter even with stock lenses
Please correct me if I am wrong, but are these the ones your are referring to. If so I made the same mistake before and ordered these from MID AMERICA, then when I got them in I realized they would not fit 1997-2004 , man I was bummed. I have been looking for something like these for C5's ever since. Gotta be some out there

Jason, do you have the LED bulbs on the diamond cut rear side markers,
I was curious if those were brighter than stock or just a better dispersement

BTW thanks for your input on the front markers, I replaced the stock bulbs for the silverstars,
they give a blue tint when off and amber when lit, kind of matches the PIAA's blue tint

Scotty: You are right and I am bummed too and haven't even gotten them yet. When you read in the main catalogue they look like they will fit!

Thanks a BILLION for the hot lead. I just purchased 4 pairs of different bulbs to try with my new "Adjure blackout crystal eyes backup lights"!. I'll have to wait to get my car back from the shop next week before I can install. I also purchased the LED Halo tail lamps and diamond cut side markers from Richard, they arrived today. yessir i do! richard is awesome. they appear to be brighter because their light points outwards thru the lense.

i was disappointed to see that the side markers don't light up completely, just the little hex opening from the bulb. oh well, it still looks cool in the day.

I bought APC Xenon Plasma Superwhite 1157 back-up bulbs, two for $14.95, they seem fine. Ordered through Corevette forum mall, not sure of the vendor.

We'll be testing 5 different types of "high powered" (they all claim high power) LEDs later this week or early next week. One of the LEDs even comes with a disclaimer: DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO LED UNIT FROM A DISTANCE LESS THAN 1 METER. We'll see what they're all about when they arrive. I'll be sure to post here if the results are positive

Default Brighter LED Follow Up!

Alright all, as follow up to the above post, we've tested 5 different types of the most logical LEDs for the back up lights today. Our consensus is that the 18 LED Tower Bulbs that we've been using all along, provide the highest illumination of all LEDs. I should also mention, don't be fooled into thinking the 20LED Tower Bulb would be brighter due to the 2 extra LEDs. Each of the 20 LEDs are much dimmer than those used in the 18LED Towers. Also none of the other LEDs tested looked as good as the Towers. The Towers look very impressive due to so many points of light reflecting off the diamond plated backing. So it's my opinion that if you want a really cool looking set of back up lights, go with the 18LED Tower Bulbs. But if your priority is more efficient back up lighting, just retain your standard bulbs.

I thought led's had the reputation of being brighter, I guess that's not always the case. C5VetteLS1 thanks for the write up. By the way, was there much difference between the led's, or were they about the same? Thanks Again!!

There was a huge difference in the LEDs tested. Some that projected directly through the lenses, while others took advantage of the chrome reflective backing. The reflective backing of the Adjure Crystal Eyes Reverse Light housings must be utilized to appreciate its full benefits. And of all LEDs tested, the tower bulbs were most efficient in doing so.

Thanks Richard, I have a set of the 1157 w24 wide angle wedge bulbs, but I don't remember exactly how many leds it has. Are the towers that much brighter than these if you understand which bulbs I am talking about?
