LED's are not brighter than stock.

stock on left, LED on right:

These diamond-cut backup housings may be a better choice for more brightness.

Would the factory lense fit the Adjure diamond cut unit? If so, would it dim the reflected light & totally defeat the purpose? Thank You for Your Help

The Adjure unit appears to come with a clear lens covering the diamond cut reflectors, while the factory backup light assembly comes with a pattern design on the lens. I have never removed factory unit nor have I seen the Adjure unit it person, so I do not know if the lens over the bulbs is removeable or if the bulbs are mounted through the backside of the assembly. Thanks

oh the bulbs poke in through the back of the lenses. you have to take off your license plate surround to access 4 torx screws and then you pull it all out together.

the stock unit is opaque, so you cannot see the bulbs, whereas the adjure unit has a clear cover and the bulbs are plainly visible.

My 99 coupe is black and I want the rear fascia to have an understated look without the bling of the "diamond cut". That is why I was looking for some brighter bulbs. There is a supporting vendor selling "black out" lighting accessories with the Adjure backups being one of the items, I just don't remember who it was. In a best case scenario, I would have the Adjure backups with blackout & hopefully the diamond cut pattern would reflect more light through the Adjure blackouts than the factory backups produce. If that is not the case I may purchase the Adjures without blackout because I NEED more light to see when I am backing up, and who knows, I may love the bling . Thanks for Helping me out

I don't think that the "bling" is so noticeable, it has a clean look. I'll try and get a close up in daylight and post it later. I love mine and even with stock bulbs it is brighter, backing out of my garage I notice it more so.

Not a blackout fan but I agree these look so much better than stock on a black car.

C5VetteLS1 (Richard) is selling these blacked out diamond-cut backup lenses. I think they will be just what you're looking for.

Replace the complete unit with the Azure one - it will make a LOT of difference in light at night when backing up

Steve, on the bottom picture your backups don't look as bright as the top picture. What makes the difference ?
