After a good hour of driving my car I notice that the Stereo, a/c control, under wwhere my feet rest gas pedal area - you can feel the hot air come in) and between my seats (where the tourqe tube is/shifter area) becomes very warm, eneough to make it uncomfortable inside the car, is this normal??
I notice this on mine especially if I open the windows some. Seems to create a draft which just draws in the hot air even more. I can feel it coming from down under the dash by the steering column, but never can pinpoint the exact spot. Very frustrating.

this is normal on our c5's and c6's. There are many posts on CF with solutions for this. Heat from the exhaust system seems to be the main culprit. Like England Green suggested getting a tunnel plate which you mount under the console will help diminish this heat

Make sure it's ceramic coated. Would also recommend insulation kit for flooring it will help quite the inside and insulate from the heat.

For a long time Vettes have been known to get warm from the tunnel area. Just the way the car is. The tunnel plate will help as would some insulation kits you can buy.
Yes, it's perfectly normal. In the summer especially after a long ride the console area on my Z06 gets very warm.
Over the winter I'm dropping the exhaust center section and installing an aftermarket tunnel plate. I haven't decided whether I want a ceramic coated or a blanket type of insulator.
There's a couple of supporting vendors who carry them, I'll be choosing one of them.
Has anyone wrapped the exhaust where it passes thru this area. I have used wrap on my motorcycles and in really helps hold the heat in where it belongs.

This is normal on Corvette, period. C1-2-3-4-5-6...it doesn't matter. Cabin heat has always been a detracting factor on these cars.
I noticed a slight heat difference with the elite tunnel plate. However, cabin heat was totally eliminated after I installed an insulation kit from Crazy Cowboy.

Wrapping exhaust pipes with cloth will degrade/fatigue the metal...it's a racing trick but not applicable to a street car. I'm in AZ and I don't notice the heat issue myself. I'd think the ideal correction would be the improved tunnel plate or a heat/sound resistant product like DYNAMAT or similar. A ceramic/metallic coating would also be a consideration (JET HOT, HPC, CERMACHROME).
