Looks like someone bypassed running the coolant lines to the throttle body.

Typically, FI guys are more prone to run a catch can because of the extreme CC and intake pressures involved. Because of the greater amount of crankcase pressures associated with forced induction motors, they tend to force significantly larger amounts of oil through the PCV system. That can foul the charge, plugs and combustion chamber and reduce the efficiency of combustion significantly. Looks like someone plugged up the PCV inlet to try and prevent excess oil in the intake. There is however a line hooked to, possibly, the PCV line, and the passenger-side valve cover fresh-air tubes leading to somewhere out of the pic that is possibly some sort of catch can and pressure venting solution.

Also, I noticed that the connector that is on the TB is positioned the same way my connector is - with its wires pulled tightly against the connector itself. This is simply bad design/assembly practice. IMO, the connector should be angled 90 degrees to relieve the tension on the wires.

Dave. Never understood that one . . . or the crappy-looking harnesses GM installs. What's with that anyway???

Ed, that one has baffled me for years. How could GM think that this connection would NOT eventually fail? I should've asked the dealership to extend the wires (or at least acknowledge that they are under too much tension) while the car was still under warranty. Of course, hindsight is 20/20.......
