Default Quick Amp Install Question

I have posted in the audio section, but I thought one of you might know the answer.

All I need to know is exactly which wires are the proper ones to wire a PAC adapter in for an external amplifier? It is currenlty wired into the RR speakers and, I think it sounds horrible. Where are they and what colors?

For more detail on what I am doing, please read here:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1587239

Thanks,

Bullman

this is the PAC-OEM I used on my 2001 Z06. It connects directly to the back of the head unit (unplug stock harness from radio, plug in PAC-OEM, plug stock harness into PAC-OEM) then you have to tap into the #8 dark green wire on the stock harness to send a remote signal to the amp. the instructions with the PAC-OEM show this very well. This converts the stock harness to RCA's required to signal the amp.

it was pretty easy with this adapter...I like the plug and play value of it...

I am sure that part will work. I'd like to use the part I already have, a PAC SNI-35 http://www.tune-town.com/installatio...t_reducers.asp, which is hooked in to speaker wires. I have heard that the wires to use are in the door panel, but I do not know which ones and at what point I should tap in. Of course, if the right way to go is to get the PAC OEM, I will.

Thanks,

Bullman

I didn't tap the #8 wire. Instead, I put my remote on a switch so I could turn the amp on/off whenever I want (the SO doesn't like the boom too much).

No pics... baby is in the shop getting custom paint right now. But, I did mount four rocker switches to control various other gadgets where the ash tray once was

For the remote wire/switch combo, I tapped the positive/ground for the cigarette lighter.
