thanks. As a Road Racer I really wasnt concerned about the inside of my car - heck I pull almost everything out except the seats. The problem I had though was the OEM seats started to pull at the stiching. I was going to just fix those when I saw the ECS Seat covers and thought a little color inside would look good.

I am happy I did it now.

Yes, it is leather and alcantra. Again you are not just paying for covers but modification to the stock seat. I have heard good things about ECS but have not seen them in person. I added heat pads and wanted more support than what GM provided me and was why I opted for these seats. For the record, I had the GT3 style seats from Caravaggio prior to this set and did not think they were for me long-term...

I just did the Al Knoch conversion on my Z. The seats have leather seating surfaces with vinyl in the high wear areas on the outside of the bolsters (vinyl is better than leather in these area). Unlike the stock covers both sides of the seat back bolster are covered in vinyl (the stock covers have cloth on the inside). For an additional $75 they embroidered the Z06 logo into the head rest just like the stock cover.

The only issue (and this may be true of all but GM covers) is they did not have provisions for the child seat latches that were installed in 2003 and 2004 passenger seats. I had to send the original seat base cover and foam back to them so they could modify their product.

TooGecko,
Those seats look AWESOME!!! I'm still going to get the GT3 seats (as soon as I free up $4K), and I'm also going for black leather/alcantera with silver stitching! Do you know if John offers any darker silver (gunmetal-type) stitching?
Cheers,
Vaughn

I don't but would be surprised if he couldn't do it for you, particularly with the custom nature of his business.

I got my ECS covers on yesterday. Very nice leather and they look great! I went with the black with gray trim. I post pics if we ever get a sunny day around here. DAMN, winter finally arrived in No VA.

That being the colored leather part. It's a little to shinny for me. The seat skins I got are black with nassau blue trim. It's the nassau blue trim that looks kind of cheap, to me. I also had a major problem with the install, because the zipper track was sewn to close the the zipper. I mean the thread was over the zipper track in some places, which means I could not zip them up. I had to have them modified to make them fit. I have also found they are not very tight on the sides and lower part of the seat. When I called MAC, they were very nice, said they were sorry and gave me a nice gift certificate for my trouble. As a company, I like their customer service, but I believe you can do better on a set of skins from someone else.
Had problems with MAC as well. When it was all said and done, they stitched three sets for me (that's how long it took them to get it right). After a while, I became generally dissatisfied with the quality and tossed them for a set of VE covers. They're nothing short of awesome.

When I get ready to redo the seats in the 97, it's likely going to be ECS. I previously had VE in the pace, and they were great quality as well (but the price at ECS is hard to argue with for a full leather cover).
