Damn, just damn.

It looks, from the pictures, that not only is there damage to the body, but to the axle assembly as well.

Be sure that you review the repairs to the trans axle closely - and that there are no leaks.

Hope that the rest of '07 is better to you.

I have to agree with Chip and the others---you were not hurt (or placed in jail for hurting the other driver ), you are in Vegas---drink your troubles away being that you don't have to drive right now ..

I'm sure everything will work out just fine..

Lori

BTW---I also agree with Jennifer---you want new parts not repairs..

You should inspect the entire rear cradle for bends or cracks.

Here's what the cradle looks like:

Also if the wheel & hub assembly show damage - the differential might have a problem.

The cool thing about a 'Vette is that quarter panel is a bolt-on, and it looks like you have a bent control arm/wheel, doesn't look too awful. I'm glad he didn't catch your rear bumper. I like your blue/lt oak combo,
I have black/lt oak. The light interior is a refreshing change from the many cars made today with dark interiors.

Ok, now my 50 year old perspective on accidents. Accidents are accidents, implying there wasn't intent behind the other driver's driving.
I don't think there are any drivers including you or me, that are 100% attentive every minute they drive, it's human nature. Cars are machines, I guarantee this will not be the last Corvette you will ever own, it's one in a string of cars. (I've owned over 80 cars/motorcycles)
I'm sure it will be repaired correctly, and best of all you, and the other driver weren't hurt. So, it's really down to an inconvienience. Your turn will come when you screw up and hit someone else (I've done it) no one is perfect. So, roll with the punches, and just accept S$%T happens, you will feel alot better inside.

I had a brand-new '04 F-150 FX4 pickup in bright red, 18" rims one month, when somebody backed their truck into it caving in my right rear quarter. And worst of all, I had to pay the collision deductable because it was hit and run! Try letting go of that one! They had to remove my bed and weld in a complete quarter panel, it came out beautiful, you would have never known. Cars, money, and material things are here for us to enjoy temporarily, we rent them, I don't know of anyone that can still enjoy their stuff after death! Have a good one, I'm sure your car will look awesome when it is repaired.

John

Sorry about your car. But like some others have already said, you are in Vegas!!!!! I'd hit the El Cortez for some blackjack. Even though it's a dump, I love that casino.
