Default What a bad day!

Well leaving for lunch today an elderly gentleman decided to run a red light in his toyota tercel and the photos speak for themselves. I didnt think my first post up here would be this- I have gotten some really helpful tips from this board so my questions is how do you get over such a crappy day? Damn Vegas drivers!

Sorry this is your first post. Welcome to CF. Wish it had been under happier circumstances.

On a positive note, be glad that no one was hurt.

Good luck with the repairs

When I called the dealership to get the rollback I told the girl where we were and that I was going to strangle this guy- she said ok I'll tell the driver the guy who is doing the strangling is my customer take care of him!

You need a new fender, NOT a repair of the damaged one. Also a new wheel. There is alo likely a fender bracket just behind the damage area that will sure need to be straightened, and the alignment arm on the suspension will likely need to be replaced. The hub itself should aslo be checked, to make sure the 'steering arm' where the alignment strut attaches is not bent. The repars look mostly straightforward remove and replace, and a few hidden brackets that can be easily bent back into shape. The paint will be your highest concern, but today the paint chemistry is SO GOOD and easy to get a great finish with, that any quality shop can do a VERY excellent repair.

Mine got hit on the other side, just a bit farther back..Missed the wheel, but also damaged the edge of the rear fascia, so that was also replaced.with the fender. My repair was so good it looks BETTER than the rest of the car, so don't worry.

Oh, yeah, and WELCOME to the forum!
