Never had that happen to mine. How old is your battery and is this the only thing that is going wacky?

Mine does the same thing. I also usually have it set to Inst. MPG, but it resets to odometer (and my other display settings) whenever I leave the car off for more than 45 minutes. The battery is stock on my 99, I'm going to replace mine as see what happens.
