Default Z06 Brake Pad Replacement

I am going to replace the pads in my Z and am looking for advice on pad type. The are a number of different componds stock, ceramic, semi metalic.
I have slotted and drilled rotors and need advice on the best type to buy both in terms of compond, manufacturer etc.
The car is used for road use only.

For road use I went back the original stock Z06 pads, road course I use polymatrix.

since you have the "bling" rotors I personally would stay with a ceramic pad for street use, especially if you have not modified your motor....least amount of brake dust, but also not a lot of 'bite' to your braking ability either.

I am sure some other guys will chime in here on suggestions.

Hi BritishVette -

We have sportbrakes drilled/slotted on my wifes 99 coupe -

I went with the Autozone ceramic pads -

They were really rough sounding for the first 400 miles or so - terrible - sounded like there were not pads in there!

But after they were broken in, they quieted down and stop great -

For the street, these are the setup in my opinion - almost no dust at all and they feel very good. I think they were around $80 for all four sets of pads.

best regards -

GM ceramics work fine, and almost dust free. Braking ability is not that much less, just don't track with them or for that matter any slotted or drilled rotor IMHO. Lots of info here in the search category.
