Stopped by my friends house, where my '02 is kept in his garage, and found an absolutely dead battery. The tender was on but the first light was flickering (charging light) and the second light(charged) was also on. Any ideas of what the problem is? Thanks
I'll go look at my Tender here in a second, but if one of the lights was flashing, that usually means one of the connections is not hooked up..I;ll have to dig up my instructions and read...but I think that is it..so your battery was probably sitting there all this time with no charge going to it.

A red flashing light means no connection or a reversed connection. I have seen one flash red with a battery that had shorted plates (internal short), but that was very rare and it was with a motorcycle battery (which is more common because of their size).
If the battery is hooked up right and is just dead, the red light will glow solid (not flash). When charge is at 75-80% it will flash green, and full charge is solid green.
If you hook them up backwards, that will just drain the battery.
If this is the first time going completely dead, you may still be ok, now just put it on a fast charge and let it stay full charged for a few days.
Should be ok after that. Similar to a deep charge.
