Default Headlight situation ANY EXPERTS?

I hope I'm not violating anything by reposting but I am trying to find someone out there who has knowledge of my problem and can recommend what I should do.

Now I'm not the best mechanic so in my link people have said my arm actuator might be off. I dont know how to fix this and visually the arm looks like its in the right place.

If anyone can go to my thread here and maybe if they have any ideas let me know. I would be greatly appreciative of any help.

I really dont want to go to a dealership and waste my money =(

thank yo in advance here is the link

The service manual doesn't offer any help, as it notes that you should mark the actuator arm position before removing it to ensure it is re-installed correctly.

At this point I only see a few choices ...

1)Trial and error ... Start by marking the current position of the arm to the motor assembly, then reattach in a slightly different position. See if that works .... and if not .... try again

2) The service manual recommends the removal of the entire headlight unit to make the work easier. If you want to know how to do this, post and I'll list the steps to remove the assembly (note which headlamp - Left or Right - steps are slightly different depending on side)

3) Drive it to a repair shop you trust and let them figure it out ... could be a somewhat $$$ step at this point if they have to spend much time re-adjusting the unit.

Good luck,

okay i have a question. if I remove the arm actuator and I turn on the lights is the motor suppose to keep going? or is it suppose to stop at a point?

I did this and my light motor keep going and going. and when i turned off it switched directions and kept going. I am assuming that the arm will provide a stop?

if my arm is bending the proper way and when it reaches the top it straightens. this is where it is suppose to stop but mine doesnt it straightens and then it rebends and goes the opposite way,, the way its not suppose to go. then when it reaches the bottom it starts the whole thing over again

what exactly stops the actuator arm at the top?? I'm confused

I GOT IT I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

i had to take the actuator lever off the motor spindle and put it back about 10 times and I finally found the magical sweet spot and it works. I hope that it will stay that way.

You know what sometimes when things are such a struggle you appreciate them so much more when you fix it!

i want to thank you for your response and their advice thank you so much!

Cheers,
david

omigod,

okay my light is now stuck at the top and then i ihave to flip the lights on and off about 5 times to get it started again. it now has a new brass gear in it but its still having problems

i dont know what to do =(

is it possibly the motor that is having the problem? maybe its not the gear that is the problem? what if i order a new motor? is that or has that ever been a problem with anyone? I just am out of ideas and its killing me everytime i see it. its taunting me
