I am going to purchase a new 8'x20' cargo trailer which i will use for a car hauler as well as in our catering business so i was wanting to get some feed back from all the cargo trailer owners on here on what i need and what to look out for so i dont get screwed when i have this trailer custom built.
The trailer I have been looking at has electic brakes on both axles and it also has (2) 5200 lbs torsen axles which make it a 10,400 trailer and it weights right at 3,000 lbs from what the manufacturing company told me so that leaves around 7000 lbs i could haul but it would be maxed out and the vette only weights around 3200 for my vert so i think i would be ok.
WHat is the inside the wheel well width on the floor?? Is it wide enough to drive your vette though ??
Are you putting an excape hatch in ? I climb out my drivers side window to get out of the car.
Need 4 D-rings on the floor to anchor your car down.
My 8' x 20' handles my Z06 just fine. The only thing I would change is to add an "escape hatch" on the left side so I could open the door instead of going through the window to enter and exit the car when it is in the trailer.
Here is the link to the manufacturer of my trailer.
My car is a vert so i could just leave the top down to be able to get out of the car but i will look into a excape hatch also.
I already had the d-ring in the floor for the straps.
As for the width between the wheel well there will be a few inches to spare on ecah side as loog as someone guides you on the trailer are you might curb a wheel
