Saw an ad on VettHound, I replied to it and the guy sent me this info. It's for a 2006 ZO6 for 28000.00
Hello again,
The car is in showroom condition, it’s located in United Kingdom, it is paid in full and will come with the title, bill of sale signed by me and all the papers that you need to register it under your name. You will support the shipping costs(through DAS shipping company and the shipping costs including insurance will be $3420.The shipping will take 8 to 10 days with DAS and will start as soon as payment is clear with Escrow. You will make first one down payment for 10% of the final amount(the down payment will be:$2800) to Escrow, and you'll pay me the remaining balance in 30 days after you have received and approved the car. You’ll pay the shipping costs when you have received the car. Provide me your full shipping address:
-name
-address
-city
-zip
And I'll contact Escrow soon after. I will receive that down payment only after you have received the car and approve it. They will contact you and provide you all the information are that you need to complete this deal. I have a very tight schedule and I will only use Escrow to finish this deal! Reply me ASAP!

Best Regards

Such a deal, I didn't post his name, these scams are rampant on ebay, didn't think they would permeate into our sponsors. I Guess Caveat Emptor

If the scammer was smart he would charge MSRP for it. Then it might actually look like a good deal.

I think that's all there would be..a currency exchange. From you to him. Wonder how many downpayments have been sent on this car and (if it actually exists) if the real owner knows how many times it's been sold.

I got this from a ebay inquire on a to good to be true ad.........

Hi,

Thank you for your interest and sorry for the delay. Before we go ahead,in case you are still interested, some words about the bike: This is a 2006 Suzuki Hayabusa 1300. The bike has 492 original miles.Bike has been babied and garaged. Never seen bad weather. One owner, clear title. Flawless exterior condition. The bike has never been wrecked ,dropped or raced. It runs and rides flawlessly. There Are No Dimples, Dents, Depressions, Scrapes Or Scratches Anywhere. The Paint Is In Fantastic Condition As Is All. I'm selling the bike because i had knee surgery 2 months ago and can no longer ride.I am in UK now ,i am getting divorce and my ex-wife is from UK,have to stay here about 4 weeks.
My brother who works for DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) will take care by the shipping.

Price is $3300.00 .Bike will be shipped from Santa Cruz,CA on my expenses by DAS(the only shipping service recommended by ebay) .I will support the shipping costs and insurance, shipping will be door to door. The transaction will be closed only through eBay, in this way we will both be protected. 30 days money back guarantee .If this is the bike you are looking for and if you agree with these conditions let me know and i will set up the transaction through eBay.

Thank you

It could be legit but, there are a lot of flags.

Ebay recommends only DAS. (From what I read on forum, EBay doesn't have the best track record).

Brother (conveniently) works for DAS and will take care of shipping.

Going to be in UK only 4 weeks.

Bike will ship from Santa Cruz, CA. (Isn't that California?).

Why not wait 4 weeks, come back and try to sell locally w/no freight involved. Should sell fast if in that fantastic shape.

As said before, could be legit but buyer be very, very cautious.

Cheers
