I used a brass-bristled brush, some Simple Green and lots of elbow grease to scrubbed the heck out of mine befoe installing them. The titanium is extremely tough and won't scratch when using the brass brush.

Probably more work than my brush but that would work.

Wear gloves.

If someone's underneath looking that just means I ran them over....

I did clean the tips with some polish since that is what Most folks will see and the rest will get dirty anyway.

I use Brillo pads on my GHL Magnum Plus system. Does a great job, doesn't scratch anything and doesn't require a lot of "elbow grease"!

I'm sure that's fine once they are clean but my Ti's arrived from the seller with a nice coating of built-up asphalt that had cooked on over the course of several thousand miles and were virtually impossible to clean without a major assault. They still look like they do in the second pic I posted after a couple of years and all I do now is wipe them with a rag every once in a while. Once they are that clean, it's a snap keeping them spotless.

Patches, did you use the brass brush/Simple Green method on the tips as well? I can't seem to get them to shine like yours.

Thanks!

I use metal polish like Mother's Aluminum and Mag polish or Blue Coral metal polish. You can use any typical metal polish on them. It might take a couple of tries before they are as shiney as you want them.

I ended up using 0000 steel wool and Mother's. The tips were very difficult. (as you already know) I used a mini Power Ball on them but never did get a true mirror polish. Mine don't look nearly as good as Patches!

Thanks,
